As Alan and Christine are before the hospital board, the doctor states Christine has been treated with the different antipsychotics at 25 mg each daily for the last six months to manage her IED. It is very rare to treat someone with 3 different antipsychotics concomitantly especially at what is likely low doses of 25 mg (depends on the individual drug). A medication is started and slowly titrated to monitor for both efficacy and side effects. Antipsychotics can have manageable side effects, but some are irreversible such as Tardive Dyskinesia. Also, to be someone's legal guardian requires going through the court to actually take away a persons own guardianship, with evidence that the person is incapable of being able to make appropriate decisions, take legal responsibility for their actions and to outright safely care for themselves. It's not quite so simply passed around.
