Aren't We Sad?

Two cases. One has already been done to death. Carl Reiner plays a guy who wants to be frozen so Cryonics can revive him at some time in the future. In addition to the fact that he would be frozen alive (and for all practical purposes, killed) imagine the societies of the future who will be spending their scientific expertise just trying to keep the population alive, caring about some lawyer who wants to arise and try cases in the 24th century. What if the power goes out for a couple days and he thaws out.

The other is a high school student who is claiming censorship from his principal because he blocks a highly conservative network news show. Shore argues that there really is no news. It's all commercial anyway. But look where we are 17 years after this show aired. I think the logical ending to this would be to pull the plug on any TV news. I agree with Shore that our population is too stupid to distinguish between face and fiction. I think that reruns of Gilligan's Island would be a worthy substitute. It would be more appropriate for the audience.
