You can't go home again
mitchrmp4 February 2014
Ben learned for the first time that a good friend of his is running an army camp that is for the "untrainable" soldiers. They are in trouble and are punished when they do wrong. Three men have had enough and escaped. Unfortunately, one of them is bad. I was actually a bit surprised at who the bad one turned out to be.

Lieutenant Paul Tyler is actually a very nice soldier who wants nothing more but to be on the straight and narrow. He begins imagining what settling down and having a family would be like when he meets his friend's old girlfriend.

The Captain leading a group to find the three escaped men is actually very evil. Ben warns the Colonel, but nothing is done. Unfortunately, things are going to get a lot worse before they get better.

Ben shows his power in this episode. Angry at the Captain's attitude when in his home, Ben let's everyone know who's in control. At this point, when he tells his kids to do something, they DO it without any arguing...

Casual post
bkoganbing19 August 2017
Three army deserters bust the stockade at Fort Dayton and Captain Chris Alcaide goes on the Ponderosa to find them. The three attack Pernell Roberts and now have his six shooter at least.

Alcaide really thinks his uniform entitles him to walk all over people. Not the Cartwrights and surely not the Ponderosa.

One guy his captured quick, the other two Joe Maross and Grant Williams take refuge on Gloria Talbott's neighboring ranch where Maross worked before.

The post is what you call a 'casual post'. It's set aside for army misfits. Sort of a malignant F Troop.

Maross is a real bottom feeder, Williams is a former officer with a mysterious past.

In the end truths are revealed to the whole cast in this interesting story.
