This was the series debut of Paul Lynde. He wasn't Uncle Arthur yet. Here, he plays a very nervous driving instructor. The story starts with Darren offering to teach Samantha to drive. The offer, however, was only another attempt to prevent her from doing witchcraft. In general, Darren's constant insistence that Samantha not "do her thing" was irritating. Never more so than in this episode. When he told her "no hocus pocus," I wished that she would have made a cake appear, and then smashed the cake right in his face! This not withstanding, I loved when she got angry with him (in the car) and then walked out on him! Of course, this had to happen, so Paul Lynde could appear as the driving instructor. You could immediately sense some kind of chemistry between Lynde and Elizabeth Montgomery. At one point, Samantha actually tells Harold that she likes him. This was sweet! Something about it rang true. When Lynde later became Uncle Arthur, you could see that Samantha liked him alot. Again, chemistry between two great actors. Overall, this is a very funny, as well as a very nice episode.
