Risque, you say?
gregorycanfield16 January 2022
My heading refers to the comments of the other reviewer. You could make an argument that the show, in general, was getting risque at this point. Starting with the eighth season, Elizabeth Montgomery began going "natural" (I won't say more). In this episode, we have Francine York as a statue of Venus, brought to life. In terms of looks, Francine was one of the very, very few guest stars who was in Elizabeth Montgomery's league. Endora wanted to prove to Samantha that another "pretty face" could easily catch Darrin's eye. I must admit that Francine gave Elizabeth a run for her money. However, had it been my choice to make, I still would have chosen Elizabeth Montgomery. When l looked at Samantha, I always felt like I could also see her heart. That goes beyond physical beauty. The Francine York character was nice to look at, but that was it. Also, her voice didn't match her appearance. Overall, an enjoyable episode, which featured two examples of "eye candy."

Very risqué for Bewitched!

I liked the episode, but was surprised how "risqué" it is for 60's sitcom.
