Once again the blacks person doesn't want to help other black people or think the worst of them. However, a white character, this time Donna is the one who shows the empathy and is called a saint.
This show often misses many opportunities to state the real issues. No one was willing to acknowledge the true problem or give up the things that really needed to be given up. (In this case Donna and her boyfriend.)
After all these years, some people don't understand that it is not easy to end the problems in the "USA", the inner city, or within the black community.
The "white savior" image needs to stop being portrayed in all forms media. Systemic racism needs to be acknowledged and dismantled.
It will take all of us becoming uncomfortable within conversations and giving up some things (time, resources, money, land, knowledge, etc) so everyone can have equity.
