"Battlestar Galactica" Greetings from Earth (TV Episode 1979) Poster

Kelly Harmon: Sarah

Quotes

  • Sarah : [atmospheric conditions making it impossible to survive]  Another of science's great mistakes.

Michael : Sarah... I think it's time that you stopped blaming technology for all of man's sins. I think it's obvious that it's not the tools, it's what we did with them.

Sarah : Except for sending families to faraway planets to grow food on Terra, not realizing that children born there, can never come home.

  • Captain Apollo : Well... it sounds as if Michael has lived up to his end of the bargain.

Sarah : The bargain wasn't my idea. I don't know what my father had in mind, but as you can see, there is only one house.

Captain Apollo : There, you see? You don't even have a place for me.

    [laughs]

Sarah : [smiles]  I might be willing to make certain allowances.

Captain Apollo : Sarah, you don't even know me. I mean, for all you know, I could be the worst scavenger in the entire universe. Or a spy or a saboteur, who knows?

Sarah : I know you well enough to know I like you.

Captain Apollo : But, Sarah, I... Even if it weren't for the mission, I don't love you. At least not yet.

    [scoffs]

Sarah : But in time you could. I've seen the way you've looked at me. If you'd just give me half a chance.

Captain Apollo : What are we talking about here?

    [stands up]

Captain Apollo : This is impossible.

    [laughs as he walks on]

Captain Apollo : I've got to leave here, and soon.

Sarah : [clearly scheming something]  And if you weren't able to?

Captain Apollo : What's that supposed to mean?

Sarah : You don't know about the Alliance. You don't know what you're heading into...

    [shakes her head]

Sarah : and how well off you could be here...

    [smiles]

    Sarah : with me.

  • Commandant Leiter : [coldly imperious]  You are from Lunar Seven. Your presence here presents no great threat to our Alliance.

Sarah : Then what do you want?

Commandant Leiter : To find out about the other two ships that accompanied you.

Sarah : I don't know anything about them.

Commandant Leiter : [grins]  Please. You have children to protect. Let us not waste time on deception. I'm sure you wish no harm to come to them.

[Sarah grabs an ornament, smashes window with it, tries to climb through, but he grabs her from behind, snapping an order to his men:]

Commandant Leiter : Check outside for the children!

  • Commandant Leiter : [basking in front of fireplace]  The flame is intoxicating, isn't it?

    [gets back to business:]

Commandant Leiter : We have our sides - yours, mine. I mean your children no harm, but you would serve them better if you tell me where everybody is gone. They will after all have to return sooner or later.

    [grins]

Sarah : How many children did you kill when you bombed this planet?

Commandant Leiter : [shakes head]  I did not bomb this planet.

Sarah : I understand that every child was in the city in school when the end came. Not a single child left alive.

    Commandant Leiter : Yes.

    [puts his cap back on]

Commandant Leiter : Well, it is war, isn't it?

Sarah : Yes, it is. And you will lose.

  • Sarah : You don't have to worry about the Morelands. They didn't damage your ships. I did it.

Michael : What? Sarah, what in the name of God for?

Sarah : I wanted Apollo to stay. I thought he could survive here. Michael, I've been terrified of committing myself to you and many other people. Everybody I've ever loved... has been killed one by one. My father, my mother, my husband. I'm sorry...

Michael : Sarah, you had absolutely no right to try to force somebody to stay here. Especially Apollo. If it weren't for this man, we'd all be dead!
