PLANT PART FOR SUMMER
osbornj-0021329 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
For about two seconds see, unbilled, Summer Gleeson, guest at wedding, looking THE KILLER, beautiful in blue, she was in Heart of Ice. Sadly it, with few also unbilled seconds at end of Mad Love, were her who what passed for part for her in this second, second-RATE, Batman series. She had been dumped for JERK Ryder, also guest looking THE CREEP he was, smirking-sneer on his face in smug- satisfaction robbing her reporting role, , before becoming The Creeper to help DC sell comeback of its 1960's comics CATASTROPHE, only to have it FAIL.

Interesting idea, poor execution--Bruce meeting, marrying, stranger TOO strange, knew something UP, revelation of Veronica Veeland gave game away well before it should have. The wedding scene was TOO humiliating for Bruce for what comes later, lucky isn't LAUGHINGSTOCK. THIS could have actually worked WITH SUMMER, spare Bruce wedding wretchedness.

Batman gets report she being attacked on roof by crooks, thrown off, swinging save, in his arm HE REALIZES HE LOVES HER. He informs Dick, Barbara, Tim HE'S GOING TO REVEAL HIS IDENTITY TO HER, MARRY HER AS BRUCE.

When they meet he discovers SUMMER IS CLONE, POISON IVY HAS REAL ONE PRISONER. She wanted to trap Batman with "chemistry" of title, staged roof-top rescue, learn his identity. The substitute Summer helps Batman defeat Ivy, "loved" him in her "way," dissolves doing it. Ivy in repeat throws Summer from roof, Batman''s SECOND swinging save. "Thank you, Batman," Summer says. "I'm glad, I've always--LIKED YOU," says Batman.
