I liked this aspect of the Batman Beyond show, because it was aimed at kids, but didn't shy away from touchy subjects like performance-enhancing drugs.
The images they use to show the consequences of such drugs can be a little frightening, but not traumatizing. The one where they reveal Bane as the creator of the drug called venom was a clever idea and brings some of the feel of tragic fates of the Animated Series back.
And most importantly, the writers focus on creating a believable story instead of being preachy about drugs and that shows respect towards their audience, thank you for that!
