Jack Soo is seen reading The Daily Racing Form in this episode set during a Summer heat wave in NYC. The cover of the paper makes reference to a Hialeah race. Hialeah is a Florida track that is open during the Winter months. It was obviously an out-of-date edition.
Wojciehowicz states that he doesn't know if he was ever inoculated for Smallpox. However, it has been established that he is an ex-marine, and he would have received the vaccination while he was in the service.
In quarantine no one goes in or out - most especially the patient. If the doctor truly suspected small pox, the patient would have to be treated in the cell. Moving the patient by ambulance would only contaminate it and the attendants. The ambulance would then be put out of service until it could be decontaminated. Any transportation would require men in special suits, at the least.
