Mack's comment about the Whitestar ships looking like plucked chickens was actually Executive Producer J. Michael Straczynski's first reaction when he saw the ships. Straczynski has always been less than pleased with the Whitestar's finished design.
Mollari's statement that he was never a child correctly reflects his backstory: his father died when he was very young, and Mollari had to become the head of his family at an early age.
Harlan Ellison was working on something, and suggested something that J. Michael Straczynski then based the episode on, so they share the story credit. According to JMS: "A View from the Gallery all came out of my keyboard in one day, between about 4 p.m. and 3 a.m."
