When Penny is striking out with the umbrella at the other car, the close (studio) shot shows her seated while the long (outdoor) shot shows her standing up in the car.
When Emma and her partner are in Mithering they soon realise the removals van is the potential clue. When seen from a distance, the sliding door at the rear of the van is down. When Emma drives up to the van, it is now open partially.
After having hit the fence, the gate is seen falling down next to the gate post. When the car is shown after having hit the tree, the demolished gate has moved.
When Steed is mentions Penny's short skirt in his car, she has her arms crossed during the medium shots but is resting her arm on the back of her chair in wide shots.

The red car driven by the villains hits the fence/gate post and careers off into a tree. Just before it hits the tree the front of the car shows no damage as would be expected if it had just hit a fence.
