Would You Buy a House From This Guy?
Hitchcoc14 December 2019
Barney suddenly has developed some expertise in the real estate business. It all trickles down to Andy receiving an offer on his house. Barney is the loosest of cannons, and yet he get Andy to trust him in a huge financial endeavor. There are some lessons here about basic honesty in all encounters. Barney is even more frenetic than usual.

Honesty

Warning: Spoilers
It's all about honesty. Is it "thrown by the wayside" in matters of auto sales or (especially) real estate. This episode raises those very important questions, yet does so with humor, especially in the final scenes, where the parties agree to stay in their own homes. It is very thoughtful, and should be archived for students of ethics and subjects of truth. I feel it is that significant.

As far as pure entertainment it's also a great episode: very funny. Besides the owner's son spilling the beans about sailing toy boats in the flooded basement of a prospective new house for the Taylors, there is Barney's over the top impression of a zealous real estate agent.

Had a lot of humor, and depth.

My favorite of many TAGS performances of Dabbs Greer and Amzie Strickland as the Sims. They have a lot of comedic chemistry together.

Barney shows his greedy side. Even wheeling and dealing with his buddy Andy's residence just to make a quick buck. Ronny Howard (Opie) at his TAGS best ruining the deal. Barney really grabs him rough at the sink, then gives him a good push through the doorway. Must of been a mattress for him to fall on him reeling from the push.

Another good epilogue with Barney now a car salesman.

Real Estate brokers must be licensed
streetlight219 August 2020
In most, if not all, US states, real estate brokers need to be licensed. Thisi would include a minimum number of hours of education in a community college or university licensed to provide the education, some time working with a professional real estate broker plus passing a test. Barney couldn't just start brokering real estate, much less pass a test as dog catcher.
