Love Letter to the past

After 7 good / fun episodes, I didn't expect that the 8th could make me cry. But It really can.

I don't want to spoil the story, so that's all I want to say about this episode.

A message to the past
Tweekums2 May 2018
During an experiment using the black hole in which Andromeda was trapped Dylan ponders the past. Rev Bem suggests that he sends a message to his fiancée into the black hole; there may be no chance that anybody will receive it but just sending it could be cathartic. Amazingly the message is received three hundred years in the past; Dylan's fiancée is part of a rescue mission trying to rescue Andromeda. She replies and Dylan starts planning a way in which they might be reunited without changing history or stopping his plans to recreate the System's Commonwealth. If that weren't enough Andromeda is attacked and the nature of the experiments mean her reactions are much slower than usual.

This was a decent enough episode although I thought it was a bit early for a second story involving time travel. It is also becoming apparent that despite having a relatively small main cast not all of them will be appearing in every episode; in the previous episode Harper was away now Trance was nowhere to be seen. This isn't a real problem as it means there is more time for those that remain; here that is obviously Dylan who must choose between the woman he loves and his dream of restoring the commonwealth. Harper also takes a major part of the story with his entertainingly unsuccessful attempts to demonstrate a working teleportation system. The cast are pretty solid; as Dylan's fiancée is played by Kevin Sorbo's wife Sam Sorbo it isn't surprising that they have a good chemistry. Gordon Michael Woolvett is also on good form as Harper. Away from the main story we learn some interesting facts about the Commonwealth notably that Earth was invited to join rather than being a founder member. Overall this episode was entertaining even if it wasn't the best to date.

Warning: Spoilers
Damn, Dylan really caught feelings for this chick Sarah back in the day. Then some time loop happens and BAM all of a sudden he's like risking his crusade to resistate the commonwealth just to chill in the past with his lady. But no, he's such a good guy that instead of choosing Sarah's booty, he realises that the commonwealth is bigger then their relationship and returns to the present without her... I'm crying, man!
