I don't get people sometimes. It's one of the most hated of the series, yet it's one of the most interesting and relevant, regarding its main protagonist. Ally McBeal is a very whimsical heroine, so what better way to emphasize this, than to have a plot involving her childhood memories, and dreamer's personality? I think it's a great topic, and I'm very moved by it and how the professor talks about the man of her actual dreams. And always root for her « release ». There are some interesting characters developments too, and good interactions, with one of Ling's best retorts. As well as a gorgeous cover of « in dreams » that was never released, unfortunately. So it's one of those episodes that make season 2 so good in my eyes.
