Sydney meets an old flame
Tweekums11 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
After being broken out of FBI custody Sydney manages to disprove the prophecy by flying to Italy and climbing Mount Subasio to watch the sunrise. Free of suspicion she learns that the CIA do not believe her mother is dead; in fact they have thought that for some time but didn't tell Jack. Sydney is determined to find her mother despite her father's objections so goes to Vaughn. Unfortunately all information regarding her is classified to a level he can't access which leaves only one person she can approach for help; Arvin Sloane. He agrees to help telling her that her mother is linked to Khasinau; he used to be her supervisor at the KGB. Her first mission this week involves her and Dixon being sent to Vienna to retrieve a chip from an agent during a masked ball. The agent is dead though. Sydney gets into some difficulty and has a shock when the man that comes to her aid is Noah Hicks; a colleague who she hadn't seen since he went into deep cover years before... he was also an old flame! With the information retrieved Sydney and Noah are sent to a facility in Russia to acquire a device that SD-6 want off Khasinau. Jack meanwhile is having problems coming to terms with the fact that his apparently late wife isn't as dead as he believed.

This was another good episode; I'm pleased that the suspicions concerning Sydney and the prophecy appear to be over so we can return to seeing her going out on her various missions. It is quite a twist learning that her mother is alive and this fact was known by both the CIA and Sloane all along; the affect on Jack was a surprise too; I think this is the first time we've seen him have difficulty dealing with something; it did give Victor Garbor a chance to demonstrate another part of his acting range though. Guest star Peter Berg did a good job as Noah Hicks; I'm pleased that the ending suggested we would be seeing him at least one more time. Once again Will and Francie are wondering about Sydney's job; I was hoping this thread might have been dropped as it never seemed that likely that friends would constantly look into each other's work so deeply.

Sydney meets an old friend
gridoon20247 October 2009
Warning: Spoilers
In what is probably the best sequence of this episode, Sydney climbs to the top of a mountain in Italy that Rambaldi, in his prophecy, said that the dangerous woman he was describing would never see in her life. Therefore she is no longer under suspicion by the FBI, but she is now determined to find out what exactly happened to her mother and if she's still alive. And her next mission may actually take her closer to that goal - she has to go to Vienna to get a microchip from an undercover SD-6 agent that contains revealing information about Khasinau / The Man, who was also Syd's mother's boss in the KGB. Much to her surprise, the man who comes to meet her in Vienna and help her get the microchip is an old boyfriend that she had met during her first years at SD-6. "Masquerade" is a lesser episode of the series (and why didn't Sloane mention anything about the fake Page 47 to Sydney?), though it does give Victor Garber the chance to do some of his strongest acting so far, as Jack's frustration at having been so deeply fooled by his KGB wife comes to the surface. *** out of 4.

First time romantism-erotism i think we see.

I dont remember before.

So, she escaped from cops, drove car dangerously but because she saw the mountain, she is clear and free now :) So nonsense :)

And how can they believe if she saw the mountain? It can be fake also.

Jack is clever and experienced, how cant he think before if his wife is still alive?
