Proof Through the Night
Prismark109 May 2018
A deep undercover US agent, Vladimir Rostoff has been operating inside the Soviet Union for over 20 years. He has found out that Soviet scientists have developed a lethal nerve agent that kills anyone exposed to it at an instant.

Rostoff steals the serum and contacts Archangel to help get him and his family back to the USA especially as he killed his fellow scientists to steal the serum. His family are unaware that he is an undercover agent and are reluctant to leave. Archangel is unsure whether to trust him after all these years inside the Soviet Union.

Hawke and Santini mount a rescue effort by flying into Russia, but due to the vast distance they need to cover, Airwolf is stripped of its weapons leaving Hawke to fly low in low light to evade Russian radars.

There is a nice orange light depicting a sunset scene as Archangel waits for the rescue mission to be a success. Hawke shows a little shade to his character as he tells Rostoff's family that life in the USA is not all bad and they do have a choice to live whatever life they want.

Not bad, but not good either.

Warning: Spoilers
What works: A cool beginning with a mysterious Soviet chemical weapon. Airwolf has a mission pick up the deep cover agent from the Soviet Union. To make the mission possible Airwolf must drop off all armaments in order to save fuels making a even more dangerous mission. What does not work: There is pro Soviet Union family members which bogs the story line a bit. Interesting story which gives the Soviets a human feel. The end has Airwolf doing evasive maneuvers which keeps Proof Through the Night interesting. Watchable but not memorable episode. 5 stars.
