Killer King (boxing legend Max Baer) and his wife Dixie (Mary Beth Hughes) are brought to Mr. Field's boarding house by Killer's manager Jimmy Dill (Lyle Talbot) to take an apartment. Killer is insanely jealous of any man giving his wife attention. Lou quickly runs afoul of the boxer after accidentally hitting Dixie and Killer with a board. Dixie later explains to a frightened Lou that she calmed him down, and asks Lou to put in a lightbulb while Killer is away. Killer returns to see Lou go into his apartment and the light go out. He rushes in with Lou rushing out and Killer is now in search of him. With Killer at the gym the next day, Dixie asks Bud and Lou to help move some of their furniture in. Killer returns unexpectedly, forcing Lou to hide inside the couch- with comical complications. Lou accidentally knocks out Killer's sparring partner and his manager offers Bud $200 for Lou to take his place for a few days. Lou runs into trouble in the trainer's room.
