In this episode, Willie is given a promotion to a supervisor position at his company's San Diego office. This, of course, means the Tanners will have to sell the house and move. As the preparations are made to move, Willie is forced to commute to San Diego for the time being. When he gets home, he complains of the drive to and from (which would go away) and how much he does not like his new position (which won't). He also continues to talk about how much he loves their house. Nevertheless, the Tanners continue on with the listing of their house. It takes a little rough persuasion from Alf to make Willie see the real facts here; he's moving out of a house he likes to keep doing a job he doesn't like. In the end Willie returns to his old job and they take the house off the market.
