When you first see Styker talking to Carter on the phone; In the background there is a ranch house. This is the same ranch house used in the "V" tv series. It was the maxwell's ranch house
The title seems to be a play on words from the 1979 film "When you comin' back, Red Ryder?" starring Marjoe Gortner, who was a guest villain in the season 2 episode 2 story "Recipe for heavy bread".
