Okay, not only did it NOT put me to sleep, it was a darn good little show. Plot was good, action was brisk, and Edd Byrnes is actually looking like the best actor on the show. I wonder how many of his own stunts he did? I'm not gonna spill any of the story, except to say that Joan Tabor is just as deadly beautiful in this one as she is in Perry Mason "The Dubious Bridegroom". One problem I have is the producers/writers of this show have Kookie driving a cheapo ford Falcon. HE WAS A HOTRODDER!! If he's gonna drive a Ford, it should be a '55-'57 T-Bird, for God's sake !! This is a very good episode, helped, of course by the absence of Stu and Jeff; who would have gummed up the works with old guy stuff. Multi-talented actress Zeme North had a strong role as a carhop, and Robert Ivers played the hitchhiking patsy. Great work by the actors, and the writers did a bang-up job on this one. There was a great fight scene that Kookie won, you'll love it when you see it. Real fights do not and can not last very long. Thanks to IMDb for references and history.

As presented in this 77 Sunset Strip episode Robert Ivers is probably someone no better than he ought to have been. But retrieving Kookie's wallet, a random act of kindness on Ivers's part earned him a needed freebie from Bailey&Spencer.

Ivers is asked by Simon Scott to burglarize Scott's home, to retrieve some jewelry from his wife. But Marjorie Bennett the wife catches him in the act and she's shot dead. Ivers has been set up beautifully and goes to Edd Byrnes who had befriended him.

Kookie's activity puts the years of relationship between the LAPD and Bailey&Spencer in jeopardy. Truthfully either Roger Smith or Efrem Zimbalist would have handled the situation differently.

There's a deadly mistress in Joan Tabor involved and there's a helpful carhop Zeme North who really helps Kookie crack the case and gets a romp with Edd Byrnes in the process.

Fans should enjoy.
