• President David Palmer : [Over the phone]  Mr. Almeida, I just heard you lost Stephen Saunders: is that true?

  Tony Almeida : Yes Sir, unfortunately it is

  President David Palmer : I thought CTU was certain of his location? What happened?

  Tony Almeida : We're looking into it now Sir

  President David Palmer : Does Saunders know we're holding his daughter?

  Tony Almeida : Yes Sir he does and she's obviously very important to him

  President David Palmer : Is Jane Saunders there with you right now?

  Tony Almeida : No, she's on her way here Sir

  President David Palmer : Mr. Almeida, I don't have to remind you how much security we're going to need around her today. She is the only thing standing between us and Stephen Saunders controlling the government

  Tony Almeida : Yes Mr. President, we're aware of that

  Tony Almeida : [Sits down]  you're right, we need your father to believe we'll do anything to get him but we're not going to hurt you. I give you my word

  Tony Almeida : Yeah, my word. I run this office and I will personally protect you

  Jane Saunders : What about Kim's father? They told her his on his way back here

  Tony Almeida : What about him?

  Jane Saunders : He scares me, I got the feeling his going to hurt me

  Tony Almeida : Nobody's going to hurt you alright?

  Jane Saunders : [Before Tony's cell phone rings]  I wish I could believe you

  Tony Almeida : [Answers the phone]  Almeida

  Stephen Saunders : Is Jane around?

  Tony Almeida : [Walks to the other side of the interrogation room]  yeah

  Stephen Saunders : Where is she?

  Tony Almeida : She's here

  Stephen Saunders : Put her on

  Tony Almeida : No, you have my wife, I want to talk to her first

  Stephen Saunders : You don't give me orders

  Tony Almeida : [Whispers]  you're wrong, I have your daughter which means I'm in charge. Now if you so much touch my wife, I will slit Jane's throat

  Michelle Dessler : [after Saunders gives her the phone]  Tony, it's me

  Tony Almeida : Michelle

  Michelle Dessler : They won't let me say much. I'm fine, I'm being treated well, don't let them do this...

  Tony Almeida : [after Saunders grabs the phone away from her]  Michelle?

  Stephen Saunders : Let me speak to my daughter Mr. Almeida

  Tony Almeida : [to Jane as he connects his cell phone into a portable speakerphone]  it's your father, he wants to speak to you

  Jane Saunders : Dad?

  Stephen Saunders : Yes Jane, it's me

  Jane Saunders : Their saying horrible things about you

  Stephen Saunders : That's what they do: don't believe any of it

  Jane Saunders : The virus in the hotel that's killing all those people, you didn't do that. Please tell me you didn't do that

  Stephen Saunders : Listen to me, the US government distorts the truth and destroys lives. Don't listen to any of it, it's all lies

  Jane Saunders : Then you didn't do it?

  Stephen Saunders : I never do something without a good cause: know that

  Tony Almeida : [Disconnects his cell phone from the speakerphone, referring to exchanging Michelle for Jane]  that's all, let's do this

  Stephen Saunders : How long will it take for you to get her out of the building?

  Tony Almeida : I have to fabricate some clearances, it's going to take me about thirty to forty minutes

  Stephen Saunders : Contact me as soon as you clear CTU

• Tony Almeida : What is it?

  Chloe O'Brian : Something's weird happened with Michelle

  Tony Almeida : What'd you mean?

  Chloe O'Brian : No one can find her: Redman's not answering his pages

  Tony Almeida : That's because I overrode NHS's order. I didn't want them to know about it, I'm putting Michelle in quarantine in one of our substations so she can still do some work. I need every warm body I can get

  Chloe O'Brian : What am I going to tell Macer?

  Tony Almeida : I'll call her, there's something else I want you to do

  Chloe O'Brian : What is it?

  Tony Almeida : I'm sending you the record of a phone call between Saunders and myself a few minutes ago

  Chloe O'Brian : You just talk to him?

  Tony Almeida : Yeah, I want you to strip away the carrier signal and see if you can use it to find him

  Chloe O'Brian : What about the voice track?

  Tony Almeida : He scrambled it, it's useless

  Chloe O'Brian : Fine

  Tony Almeida : Do it in Tech 1: away from everybody, I don't want Adam to know about it

  Chloe O'Brian : Why not?

  Tony Almeida : Technically, it's his job but your better at it

  Chloe O'Brian : [Confused]  why did you just say that?

  Chloe O'Brian : Because it's true

• Jack Bauer : What the hell is going on? Adam just told me you think you've got someone on the inside working for Saunders?

  Tony Almeida : It hasn't been confirmed yet but I have Chloe working on it

  Jack Bauer : What's she doing?

  Tony Almeida : She's taking a look at the status logs to see if she can find anything out of the ordinary

  Jack Bauer : If this is true, we've got to call Division and get Spec Ops down here immediately

  Tony Almeida : I thought about that but I don't want to raise any red flags, if someone in our group is working with Saunders, I don't want them to know we're onto them

  Jack Bauer : Ok fine: you and I will work this up together but I want Division to pick up Jane Saunders so they can continue questioning her

  Tony Almeida : Good idea

  Jack Bauer : I'll call Brad Hammond and meet you in Tech 1, we'll go over everything with Chloe

  Tony Almeida : No wait, I have a thirty minute status calls scheduled with Hammond anyway, why don't you let me tell him and you can go to Field Ops?

  Jack Bauer : Ok fine

• Jack Bauer : What're you doing?

  Tony Almeida : I'm trying to pick up a thread on Saunders: somebody in my own group may be working against us. I have quarantine zones springing up all over the place I'm treading water here

  Jack Bauer : Why'd you lie to me?

  Tony Almeida : Lying? What're you talking about?

  Jack Bauer : I just got off the phone with Hammond, you didn't have a status call scheduled

  Tony Almeida : I screwed up earlier, the SAT transmission on my system was forged by my own people. I should've noticed it wasn't authentic before I ordered Baker off his post: I didn't, by the time I realized my mistake it was too late. Saunders was gone

  Jack Bauer : What about the missing frames?

  Tony Almeida : It must've been deleted by the same person who forged the SAT transmission. I know this is big, I promise you I'll offer my resignation to you when this day is over but right now we got too much going on for me just to step down

  Jack Bauer : Making a mistake is one thing, covering it up is another. I can't let you stay in place. I am taking command over CTU now

  Tony Almeida : I made a mistake

  Jack Bauer : No, you made two

  Tony Almeida : Fine, I'll make sure Adam sends everything over to your group
