Jack Bauer : [fires a shot at Sherry Palmer] Sit down!

Jack Bauer : You took voice samples from three leaders of three Middle Eastern countries and intercut them Syed Ali's voice to create the Cypress audio

Alex Hewitt : I didn't say that

Jack Bauer : Peter Kingsley paid you for it

Alex Hewitt : No

Jack Bauer : You are a traitor to your own country: do you know what they're going to do to you?

Alex Hewitt : I'm not. I didn't know, I swear. I already told this to Mrs. Palmer, get her in here she'll tell you

Jack Bauer : Forget about her she's not going to help you. If you tell me everything I need to know about the Cypress audio, I will do everything I can

Alex Hewitt : I won't say anything until I see my lawyer

Jack Bauer : I am your lawyer, son. Those people you were working for, they thought you were going to die in the bomb blast, they're going to keep coming after you. So if you want to stay alive, you better start telling me everything I need to know

Alex Hewitt : No, I'll only talk to Mrs. Palmer

Jack Bauer : Why her? How is she connected to this? How do you know her?

Alex Hewitt : I just met her today, she called and said she could help me. Look, I know who she is, she's the President's ex-wife, and she's got connections high up

Jack Bauer : She can't help you now. I'm the only one who can help you

Alex Hewitt : I want to talk to her

Jack Bauer : Ok, let me see what I can do

Jack Bauer : [while pointing a gun at her inside Hewitt's loft] Mrs. Palmer

Sherry Palmer : [Surprised to see him] Jack Bauer

Jack Bauer : Stand up

Sherry Palmer : Why?

Jack Bauer : [Yelling] stand up

Sherry Palmer : What're you going to do to me?

Jack Bauer : Turn around

Jack Bauer : [while he searches her] I'm not carrying any weapons

Jack Bauer : Take a seat

Jack Bauer : [after he handcuffs Bryce] what are you doing here?

Sherry Palmer : I'm trying to help David

Jack Bauer : Help David with what? You're no longer part of his life

Sherry Palmer : Don't believe everything you read in the papers: David's asked me to pull my resources to see if I can find out anything about the people behind the bomb

Jack Bauer : I don't believe you

Sherry Palmer : [Referring to Alex's loft] I don't care what you believe. Do you know who did this? Who ransacked this place? You must be here for the same reason I am

Jack Bauer : What reason would that be?

Sherry Palmer : To find Alex Hewitt

Jack Bauer : Why?

Sherry Palmer : Oh, you must know, you're here

Jack Bauer : Why don't you tell me?

Sherry Palmer : He created a recording that's about to start a war

Jack Bauer : [after closing the front door] how do you know about that?

Sherry Palmer : I don't like the way this conversation is going, how dare you talk down on me

Jack Bauer : How do you know about the Cypress recording? I am not a politician and I'm not going to debate this with you so answer my question. What do you know about the Cypress recording?

Sherry Palmer : I know about it because every expert in the government with priority clearance has been working on it for the past six hours. I've got a lot of resources

Jack Bauer : What do you know about Alex Hewitt?

Sherry Palmer : I know his a freelance audio technician

Jack Bauer : Whose his worked for?

Sherry Palmer : A man named peter Kingsley

Jack Bauer : Why?

Sherry Palmer : Kingsley represents Caspian Sea oil interests and wants the United States to go to war with the Middle East. Kingsley hired Alex Hewitt to fabricate the Cypress recording

Sherry Palmer : [Referring to Alex Hewitt] what did he say?

Jack Bauer : What're you doing here Mrs. Palmer? Please don't tell me it's to help the President

Sherry Palmer : Alright, I came here to protect myself: I told you Alex was paid by Kingsley to record certain conversations. Well, some of those conversations were with me, and they incriminate me

Jack Bauer : So you know Peter Kingsley, your collaborating with him

Sherry Palmer : He assured me that the bomb would never go off

Jack Bauer : [while dialing a number on his cell phone] what were you thinking? What the hell were you thinking?

Sherry Palmer : Who are you calling?

Jack Bauer : CTU: I'm a sworn federal agent Mrs. Palmer, you just confessed to a federal crime

Sherry Palmer : I suggest you hang up that phone Mr. Bauer. I am the only one who can get Hewitt to cooperate and for that I want full immunity from prosecution. Now hang up the phone and I'll tell you everything

Jack Bauer : [after hanging his cell phone, yells] Start taking!

Sherry Palmer : I wanted to bring down David's Presidency. I was so angry with David for what he did to me. I worked tirelessly for years to put him into Office, I sacrificed everything. My career, my family, and David betrayed me

Jack Bauer : So you wanted revenge, what did Kingsley want?

Sherry Palmer : Money. A war in the Middle East would triple the value of oil

Jack Bauer : So the only reason your here is that no one can connect you to Kingsley?

Sherry Palmer : Yes, just like I told you. I came to protect myself. Look Mr. Bauer, there's only one person you need to prosecute for this and that person is sitting in that room over there. I want full immunity otherwise it's just your word against mine

Tony Almeida : [Over the phone] what's happening?

Jack Bauer : Is the President still holding off the attack?

Tony Almeida : No, things got much worse: it hasn't been made public yet but Palmer's been pulled

Jack Bauer : What'd you mean "pulled"?

Tony Almeida : His Cabinet invoked the twenty-fifth Amendment because he wanted to wait for confirmation on the Cypress recording. Prescott is now the President

Jack Bauer : I'm ready to bring you the evidence to prove the recording was forged. Are you telling me Prescott won't even listen to it?

Tony Almeida : No I'm telling you he won't wait for it. Get me that evidence as quickly as possible and I'll call Prescott with it

Jack Bauer : Fine, you can start by sending a chopper to the address you gave me. I got Hewitt

Tony Almeida : Is he definitely the one who made the recording?

Jack Bauer : Yes. Absolutely

Tony Almeida : Will he testify?

Jack Bauer : We're working on it

Tony Almeida : If I go to Chappelle to request for a chopper for you, his just going to deny it because his got orders from District

Jack Bauer : Just deal with it. We've got bombers in the air, Hewitt is our only chance to stop this thing please

Tony Almeida : Ok I'll do my best

Sherry Palmer : [after she overheard Jack talking to Tony over the phone] what'd you mean I would "try to cut a deal"? I explained to you that Alex wasn't going to say anything without my permission

Jack Bauer : [Referring to Alex Hewitt sitting nearby] Mrs. Palmer all I care about right now is that he convinces Prescott and the Joint Chiefs that he forged the Cypress audio. After that you're free to cut any kind of deal you want

Sherry Palmer : No: that is not what we discussed

Jack Bauer : I'm sorry. That's the way it is

Sherry Palmer : We'll see about that

Jack Bauer : [Grabbing her arm to prevent her from walking away] Mrs. Palmer, the conversation ends here

Jack Bauer : [Referring to Alex Hewitt] you don't talk to him again, do you understand me?

Jack Bauer : [as she tries to pull away from him] don't try me Mrs. Palmer. Take a seat on the couch

Tony Almeida : [Over the phone] it's Tony, chopper's on the way: it should be there in about twenty minutes

Jack Bauer : So Chappelle is on board with this?

Tony Almeida : Not exactly

Jack Bauer : What'd you mean?

Tony Almeida : Look, it's better if you don't know

Jack Bauer : Ok fine. You're going to have to get the Attorney General involved in this

Tony Almeida : What for?

Jack Bauer : Mrs. Palmer is going to try to cut a deal

Tony Almeida : A deal?

Jack Bauer : Hewitt's testimony will incriminate her

Tony Almeida : Alright, I'll make sure everything's in place

Jack Bauer : This thing has to go like clockwork. There's no margin for error here

Tony Almeida : [Before hanging up] yeah I know

Sherry Palmer : [Referring to Alex Hewitt] alright this is how this is going to work: his going to come in and I'll testify. He can demonstrate the technology in a matter of a few minutes

Jack Bauer : Good. The chopper's on the way

Jack Bauer : What're you doing?

Alex Hewitt : [while typing on his computer] they took the disk that had my filter: I'll need to rebuild that file straight to process. Ok it'll have to be decompressed, it will take about twenty minutes

Jack Bauer : How's it going to work?

Alex Hewitt : I'm going to make a recording for them right on the spot. Shift it around, reframe segments, they'll have the same specs as Cypress, it'll blow their minds

Jack Bauer : [Pats him on the shoulder] good

Alex Hewitt : [Referring to Sherry Palmer] then I'm free to go right? That's what she said

Jack Bauer : Yes, you'll be fine

Alex Hewitt : How come you're being so nice to me all of a sudden?

Jack Bauer : What'd you mean?

Alex Hewitt : Ten minutes ago it was all my fault, you called me a traitor, and now it's "fine Alex"

Alex Hewitt : [after noticing Jack and Sherry glance at each other] you guys are going to screw me aren't you?

Jack Bauer : We're not going to screw you

Alex Hewitt : Yes you are. The minute after you made a deal you're going to "hang me out"

Jack Bauer : Calm down, we can't "hang you out", without you there's no proof

Alex Hewitt : Fine, then I want it in writing. Why won't you let me have an attorney?

Jack Bauer : Because we don't have time, right now there's bombers in the air. You're going to have to trust me on this

Alex Hewitt : Why? Why should I trust you?

Sherry Palmer : Maybe his right, why don't you have federal counsel to meet us wherever we're going?

Jack Bauer : Excuse me?

Sherry Palmer : It's just one phone call

Alex Hewitt : [Nervously] that's right, we want federal counsel

Jack Bauer : No, I'm not trading with you. You're going to do your demonstration then I help you, that's the deal. That's it

Alex Hewitt : [to Sherry, referring to Jack] I want to talk to him in private

Sherry Palmer : I told you I handled everything

Alex Hewitt : Then what're you afraid of? He said I was the only one who can make this happen. I want to talk to him alone

Sherry Palmer : Ok, alright, whatever you want. I'll be over here

Jack Bauer : What's going on?

Alex Hewitt : Is she trying to screw me or not?

Jack Bauer : No, she's trying to help you

Alex Hewitt : Why? I mean she doesn't even know me

Jack Bauer : Maybe she thinks you were "tricked" into something you didn't fully understand. She wants to use her influence with the President to try and help you

Alex Hewitt : Because she thinks I'm innocent?

Jack Bauer : Yeah, maybe

Alex Hewitt : I think she likes me

Jack Bauer : [Smiles] I think she does

Tony Almeida : [Answering the phone] Almeida

President David Palmer : Mr. Almeida, David Palmer

Tony Almeida : Mr. President, what can I do for you Sir?

President David Palmer : I need to speak to Jack Bauer: do you know how to reach him?

Tony Almeida : Can you hold on Sir?

President David Palmer : For a moment

Tony Almeida : Jack, I have the President Palmer on the line for you

Jack Bauer : Ok good. How we doing on the chopper?

Tony Almeida : I'm working on it

Jack Bauer : Work faster

Tony Almeida : Mr. President, I have Jack on the line, go ahead

Jack Bauer : Yes Mr. President?

President David Palmer : I don't know if you've heard, but I've been unseated

Jack Bauer : Yes Sir, I'm sorry

President David Palmer : Where are you on your investigation on the Cypress audio?

Jack Bauer : Mr. President, I can tell you for certain the audio has been forged. I have in custody the man who engineered it, we're going to bring him in soon. We'll patch him through the White House and the Department of Defense so he can testify. Meanwhile, CTU is trying to process everything we can on him. Mr. President, there is something else though

President David Palmer : What?

Jack Bauer : Your ex-wife. Sherry, she's here with me

President David Palmer : How'd that happen?

President David Palmer : [after Jack remains silent] Jack?

President David Palmer : [Sensing Sherry can overhear their conversation] you can't talk?

Jack Bauer : No Sir

President David Palmer : Don't trust her, do you understand?

Jack Bauer : Yes Mr. President

President David Palmer : Let me talk to her

Jack Bauer : [Handing her the phone] he wants to talk to you

Sherry Palmer : David?

President David Palmer : What're you trying to do?

Sherry Palmer : I'm just trying to help you

President David Palmer : How can you help me? If you wanted to help me, you shouldn't have lied to me

Sherry Palmer : That's the problem. It's not always about the truth

President David Palmer : And what's that suppose to mean?

Sherry Palmer : The truth is the Cypress recording was forged. The truth is you were right and they were wrong. The truth is your trying to prevent an unnecessary war and Jack Bauer and I are the only ones who can help you

President David Palmer : Stay out of his way

Sherry Palmer : Alright

President David Palmer : Let me talk to Jack

Jack Bauer : Yes Mr. President?

President David Palmer : I need this man to come forward now

Jack Bauer : I understand Sir

Sherry Palmer : When are your people getting here?

Jack Bauer : Soon

Sherry Palmer : Listen, it's not just out of my own selfish desire that I'm trying to stay clean out of all of this

Jack Bauer : Really?

Sherry Palmer : It wouldn't be good for David's Presidency if his ex-wife was implicated in this bomb

Jack Bauer : So now you care about his Presidency?
