My 5 month old loves it

This video has really caught the attention of my infant daughter.

I would describe it as a "video slide show" of different events such as counting blocks, moving objects, etc. The background soundtrack is in several different languages that highlight counting exercises, singing of cultural songs, and the like.

One in a series of billions, but the kids love em

Well it's kind of hard to really comment on these series of tapes, they're pretty simplistic and generally for kids 3 or younger. Our two boys love watching these things, though our older one (2 yrs old) seems to be growing out of them. Gives mom and dad some time to themselves while keeping the kids entertained. For those unfamiliar with them, they are a series of videos where they show images of toys, photos and films of various things, and narration on a baby entertaining level. What impresses me is that each one of these videos probably cost less than a $1000 each, yet these people are making a ton of money from these. The only downside is that like baby clothes, your kids outgrow these and eventually they wind up in yard sales or Goodwill (the videos not your kids)

Really cute, fun, entertaining, and educational video

Wow! This is a really cute, fun, entertaining, and educational video. I said that because I watch this on DVD with my 17-month-old nephew from time to time. If I had to pick, this would be the most interesting one. This is because it's really cute, fun, entertaining, and educational. Still, I think that all the Baby Einstein videos are really cute, fun, entertaining, and educational. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that the Baby Einstein company really knows how to reach a toddler's developing mind. Now, in conclusion, if you have children, nieces, or nephews, I strongly recommend this really cute, fun, entertaining, and educational video.

OK but not amazing!

As a new mother I am always on the lookout for ways to improve my babies life and I had heard a lot about the Baby Einstein range of DVD's. I think this title, 'Language Nursery' is one of the older ones but considering my baby has not seen any of them I don't think this really mattered.

When we put the DVD on I must admit that I thought there was a problem with the sound until I realised that the voices were speaking in different languages on purpose! There were some nice but basic images for my son to look at but it was the words I could not get my head around.

At 6 months old my son can just about manage a few gurgles let alone anything that resembles an actual word. He is bobarded with adult voices all day (in English) which I imagine is confusing enough so I just didn't understand why you would want to make it even more difficult by adding a million other languages to the equation. Did anyone else feel this?

Anyway he did not seem too interested in the visuals and after about 10 minutes or so we switched it off. We did try a few more times to watch it but he was not a fan. Oh well, will try another one of the range, there's sure to be one he likes as everyone else seems to!
