Underworld explores the intricate detail of a murder whilst keeping the audience suspense-fully on the edge of their seats. Set in the seedy underbelly of inner city Melbourne, Underworld traces two detectives discovery of a gruesome and puzzling murder. This would have to be one of the best shot short films that has come out of Austalia in the last year. Superb detail combined with the gritty vision of 16mm make this black and white gem one not to be missed. To be seen more for its visual content then storyline, Underworld exposes the talents of a promising young Melbourne based DOP that no doubt holds great potential for the future. Possibly the next generations David Lynch!
