From colors to cast, shot selection to score, this short hits its mark, then sticks with you. Mr Mensore explores the previously unknown world of communications between babies without the trendy lip moving effects or pseudo-educational junk found in most children's films these days. It is fun, wacky, original, and believe it or not... live action! Who ever decided that young kids films need to be animated to work should watch this short. I got a chance to see The Birthday Boy at the Bahamas International Film Festival, and 2 things were very apparent. First, it had a larger audience than any film (including features) in the whole festival. Second, the kids and their parents loved it- so did I, and you will too. It makes me wonder whether babies really can communicate with each other, but assures me that Mr Mensore knows how to communicate with an audience through film- check it out.
