A mild version of Jackass
gudmjon19 September 2006
Like everything in Icelandic television the show 70 minutes has a model and that is the show Jackass. Icelandic television is very unoriginal and they almost copy and paste everything that is popular in USA and sometimes Britain. 70 minutes follows the exact same principle as Jackass. It is therefore about 3 guys in their mid twentys acting like 14 year olds, doing all kinds of stunts that can be dangerous and also making fun of themselves. The show stands and falls with it's hosts and thankfully they are quite funny and appealing especially Pétur Jóhann Sigfússon which is the most naturally talented comedian of the bunch. But this is something people get tired of after a while and I am quite frankly amased that it did so well for such a long time. I think it is testament to how poor Icelandic television programs are. Still I would rather watch hours of this programme instead of the awful Spaugstofan (1989-) which is probably the worst comedy show ever made.
