This is a fresh proposal ...give it a chance!

I was a bit afraid this movie will result in a full of clichés and unoriginal comedy resembling late movies made in Mexico, however this movie was a nice surprise. It is an original and funny (in a twisted sense) premise covered with black and even acid humor...you may find yourself laughing at things you are not supposed to be laughing at...and you will enjoy it. The main characters are enjoyable and well written, the actors performing them are great, hope to see them again. I have not seen Sobrenatural but after seen Morirse en Domingo I will, and hope the next Gruener film won't take 10 years more. In short, if you want to see a fresh film with an irreverent vision about death, give a chance to this film, you won't regret.

Not bad,could have been better

I saw this film yesterday at Puerto Rico's Cinemafest. The story is interesting and all the actors in the cast are good but the movie just takes too long to tell a story that could have been told in less time and more dynamically.

The film just feels too long and no matter how interesting its premise was at the beginning after a while you begin to wonder when it is finally going to end.

Also there are some things in this movie that feel too contrived-I'm not going to give out any spoilers-but if you see it you will know what I mean.

Morirse en Domingo also suffers from some melodramatic and sentimental scenes that seem taken out from a soap opera that just break the tone and feel of a film that could have worked much better as a black humor satire without those elements.

Excellent movie... reminds of the best of Spanish and Italian dark humor
guillela-121 February 2007
I saw this movie in Mexico City on 2/20/07. I was told it was dark humor. Actually, it is much much more. The story develops, and although there may be a little repetition in the 2nd third of the film, it is a mixture of thriller, social commentary, humor and, hidden behind the darkness, all kind of love... father figure missing the point, coming of age inside a coffin, the tough and rough world of body trading... One thing for sure. You will not be bored. The actors really do their parts superbly; the story is intriguing, the sound and images are crisp. In short, a good movie to laugh and wonder, to shudder and come out of the theater with a bittersweet feeling; mostly the giddy feeling of having watched a well-made film.

wow!an amazing film...i have seen it some hours ago,it was the first time, also, for the actors...and after watching it,people didn't stop clapping their hands...all the actors are awesome,perfect...i didn't know nothing at all about most of them:SILVERIO PALACIOS makes a fantastic role,HUMBERTO BUSTO-i saw him in amores perros with gael garcia bernal-offers many different things in one character,MAYA ZAPATA shows that her future is not enough to make us know how much is she able to grow...the photo, the production itself... its a great film, different,a mixture of events and feeling...a fantastic job of DANIEL GRUENER(director) ant the production team(with SUSANA ZABALETA on it).you all have to see it.
