Watching Super Bowl XXIV as a kid it was the biggest blowout I remember, but no surprise really though as the NFL's best team from the 1989 season the 49ers rightfully won it all. This was the 49ers 4th Super Bowl win of the 1980's clearly making them the NFL's king of the decade. From the beginning the game had little drama, as San Francisco simply outplayed and outhit the Broncos from start to finish, as Denver QB John Elway again tasted defeat by having a miserable day throwing interception after interception, and plus he took a pounding from the San Fran defense. Many people in life are polar opposites, well on this day John Elway and Joe Montana certainly were. Joe had a game for the ages he played mistake free just like he had all during the 1989 season, Montana finished the game by throwing for 5 TD passes that helped make the 55-10 crushing of Denver. Well the city of Denver would cry again, but nothing to feel bad about as this was a crowning of a king for the Bay city the 4th Super Bowl win in the 80's was a classic tribute. Also a final note this was Joe Montana's 3rd Super Bowl MVP a stunning thing now that's what I call Joe cool!
