30-year NFL broadcaster and Hall of Fame coach, John Madden announced his retirement from broadcasting. Madden has been the game analyst for NBC Sunday Night Football since 2006 and according to B&C, Cris Collinsworth will immediately step into Madden's place in the booth working alongside Al Michaels. Collinsworth was the co-host and analyst on NBC's Football Night in America pregame show and NBC Sports chairman Dick Ebersol said this show will be revamped following Collinsworth's departure. During Madden's distinguished career he earned a multitude of awards and accolades including: 16 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Sports Analyst/Personality American Sportscasters Association named Madden the Sports Personality of the Year in 1985 and 1992 In 1982, was the first NFL analyst to receive the Golden Mike Award from the Touchdown Club of America As NFL head coach, Madden led the Oakland Raiders to a victory over the Minnesota Vikings during Super Bowl XI.
