This film was commissioned in 1996 by the Mountain States regional office of the Anti-Defamation League to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the arrival of Holocaust survivors to the United States.
It debuted on 17 April 1996 in Denver, Colorado at the historic Paramount Theatre, Denver's last grand movie palace. 1650 attended the premier in downtown Denver.
More than a year later, CBS-4 acquired the rights to air the film as a part of its Hanukkah tribute. It received its broadcast premiere on December 28, 1997. For this, it received a regional Emmy nomination in the Informational and Instructional Program category.
Through its "World of Difference" project, the Anti-Defamation League distributes the film to classrooms as a tool to teach tolerance and non-hatred skills to children. The VHS video sells for $25, and a teacher's guide book accompanies the film.
