hysterical!
juty149084 August 2005
Warning: Spoilers
this short film by microcinema director anthony spadaccini is hysterical! i was laughing the entire time. it's shot like an old silent movie. the music is appropriate, the main guy is really funny, and the situations get ridiculous by the film's end. i actually thought it was too short. the running time is 11 minutes (on this site it says 14, but on my DVD player it said 11) and i wanted it longer. my favorite scene was when the main guy gets beat up by the woman and then by the homeless guy. also, the shower scene was really funny (i could relate to everything in that scene, from the sliver of soap to the shampoo in the eyes). lol! i met the director at a public screening of this and he mentioned that there will be a sequel to it later this year. i can't wait. again, this is a really funny movie.

A too short, been there done that comedy.

A way too short, been there done that comedy.

This film was my first introduction to one of Anthony Spadaccini's films, All of the user comments have hilarious someplace within them, Very true statements, Who hasn't been late for something and the world turns against you trying to get there on time. (The faster I go the more behind I get.) Who needs dialog when the great facial expressions of the actors say it all perfectly? I like how the movie ended on an up note, which I thought kinda cute. The only thing I disliked was the length as wanted it to keep going. Or I would like to see a series of films with actor in different situations. When I searched for other films by Anthony Spadaccini I was surprised he had done so many, but most were out of stock, which I could understand as the demand would be great from the quality I saw and the low prices.

One of the best shorts I have seen
csmfjb28 August 2005
"Monday Morning" has to be one of the best shorts I have seen.

It was hilarious.

The bed scene was fantastic, the movements of Nate Edwards fit so well I laughed aloud.

The style of the old silent films was perfect for this. This is one of the movies I will take with me when I visit with friends so I can show them, as I know they all will enjoy it.

I found this film similar to those Funny home video shows, or the humorous video clips you can find on the internet and want to share them with everybody. You will want others to watch this one also. I would like to see more of this style, very enjoyable. I think this is funnier than most of the SitComs playing today and would like to see one of the independent stations to pick this up for when they need a short filler.

really really funny

Warning: Spoilers
this is a truly funny film. i can relate to everything in the film, who hasn't had a morning like the one that our hero trevor in the film goes through. from the bar of soap, bleach, shampoo, forgetting things, then the rude people at the bus stop. a fantastic film through and through. i think Anthony Spadaccini is a very talented director as he has shown through his other films and now with this one. i look forward to seeing more from him, he seems to like to make very unique films. Nate Edwards is really good in the lead role and i think he has a future in the film industry, especially with comedies. this is a far cry from Spadaccini's last three films, but that's a good thing too.

Modern Topic with classic film style
blackrockchick19 January 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This film shows the hustle and bustle of modern day life and our busy schedules in a classic way. The main character is trying to get to work on time and encounters various obstacles along the way. Even though the topic is common, it is handled in a classic silent film style a la Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton that makes the presentation unique. This film even has some of the slapstick kind of moments that make you think you are watching an old film. In the end the viewer is as frustrated and amused as the main character by the situation. This film is definitely a treat as shows that good cinematography and editing do not have to be modern and flashy to be appreciated.

Funny and Great Throwback!
Madmandave23 June 2006
This movie's biggest flaw is its too short. I wanted more more more! A blast of a film to just sit through and enjoy. As a huge Benny Hill fan, this brought back memories of that manic, frenetic paced buffoon suffering every problem thrown at him in his simple day. Filmed without dialog, the music is friendly, uppety and keeps the pace of the film moving forward. Clarity of the film is right on, with no over-saturated brights, and helps keep the old-time concept and black and white feel right in place. Acting was enjoyable by a capable cast, using as much physical gestures and movement to keep the energy going. Would definitely want this to be a full length film, a charming piece thats suitable for almost any age, and a great film to round out any collection.

A return to simpler times
zraclooc28 June 2006
Mr. Spadaccini has had the good fortune of surrounding himself with a very talented group of friends. Up until now, I've only had the pleasure of viewing his serious, dramatic works. but the actors are all just as comfortable with comedy...in fact they excel at it! Expressing ideas in a silent movie is not as simple as one would think...you must rely on exaggerated gestures, body movement, and facial expressions. The entire cast of characters pull it off as if this were the only genre they had ever worked in. 'Monday Morning' is a fitting tribute to the great silent comedy classics of the past. You don't have to be a fan of 'silents' to enjoy this 'short'...it is a return to a time when we watched a comedy just to make us laugh and forget our troubles for a time...not to have a message forced down our throats. As always, I look forward, eagerly, to future releases by this very talented young man, and his equally talented crew!

Funniest short I've ever seen
fabfilmguy7 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Monday Morning is the funniest short film I've ever seen. Period.

A guy wakes up late for work and his struggles to make it to work before he's fired are all played for slapstick comedy and it really, really works well. The guy who plays the lead is an amazing actor and I wish he were in more.

This is one of those films that you can't wait for it to be on DVD to see how they made it and to own a copy. I was disappointed that this film was not on DVD yet, but luckily I did find it on YouTube and was able to enjoy it again.

The director and star did a small Q&A at the Del. Valley Film Festival and both seemed like they really enjoyed making the film.

good & funny short movie
dejeffboy27 September 2005
i know anthony personally and think his movies are good. But this movie, Monday morning, is his best. i think this is a good & funny short movie about a guy who is trying to get to work and cant because of stupid and weird things that happen to him. he also runs into some strange people. i thought the best scene was the shower scene, as i can relate to almost everything that the guy went through. I'm glad anthony has decided to do comedy instead of horror movies, he is a better director when he does comedy. i also think the guy who played the main character should be in more stuff, he is a good actor. i give this movie a 7 out of 10 rating because it is the best movie anthony has done and i've seen many of his movies. i also saw aftermath though i didn't like that one quite as much.
