One of the creators of this film, whose name is Gary, recently came and gave a talk at my school, UNC-Wilmington. While he was there, he showed us his film, Midnight Clear. I didn't expect it to pull at me emotionally as much as it did, especially from a short film. I would highly recommend seeing it. I actually had a tear or two when it was over. The story was really great. It is true, suicide rates jump during the holidays. No one should have to be alone on Thanksgiving, or Christmas, yet people are. Stephen Baldwin's performance was fantastic, I think. It was different from his other roles by far and he had a lot less dialogue. However, there are some films in which body language and action account for much more than spoken word. A facial expression can tell the story all on its own. This film is inspiring and truly heartfelt. If you have any opportunity to see it, please take that chance. You will not regret it. I loved it.
