Charlie McDermott is best known at the moment for his role as Axl, the frequently naked teen on ABC's popular freshman sitcom The Middle (TV), but his talent is more than skin deep. Just 19 years old, the Pennsylvania native has honed his craft by acting in indie dramas and comedies, among them Disappearances (2006), The Ten (2007), Frozen River (2008), and Sex Drive (2008). His current slate of projects includes The Middle, as well as a couple of more independent films, Morning (2010) and Prep School (2010), plus the crazy-sounding sci-fi/sex comedy Hot Tub Time Machine (2010), an upcoming studio film that co-stars John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Clark Duke.
