A little heavy handed with the appeals to emotion, if solid information is your thing, keep looking.

Homeland is a well shot film, the Alaskan scenery is shown off wonderfully and the whole thing is very professional. The message is timely and necessary, but the method of bringing you that message is heavy-handed, relying far too often on emotional appeals and bringing up the past. There are, however, several very informative segments; shots showing the pollution of rivers or an argument between a tribal council and a corporate team. The only criticism I have is that perhaps the slice-of-life segments and emotion based arguments should have been reduced. These messages are important, and that is why it is important to present them in a concise and informative manner. If emotional stories of activism are your thing, I heartily recommend this film, otherwise, you should probably look somewhere else.
