"When you get scared, just ring that and I'll be right there." Dark Sky Films has debuted an official trailer for a "psychological shocker" horror titled Reunion, from filmmaker Jake Mahaffy. This first premiered at the Nightstream Film Festival this fall, and it arrives on VOD in February. A pregnant woman returns to her recently-deceased grandparents' family home to spend time with her estranged mother. What begins as a reunion slowly turns terrifying. The film features Julia Ormond and Emma Draper, with John Bach, Nancy Brunning, and Cohen Holloway. It is built around a "tour-de-force performance of threateningly quiet intensity and features a twisty narrative that will burrow itself into the darkest corners of your mind." Scary. This is a super trippy trailer, with some intensely frightening camera angles and super creepy shots. Here's the official trailer (+ posters) for Jake Mahaffy's Reunion, direct from Dark Sky's YouTube: A pregnant...

Father of the Bride, the 1991 remake of the classic 1950 film of the same name, managed to further cement comedy icon Steve Martin’s mid-career onscreen status as America’s (non-Clark-Griswold) well-meaning, but neurotically insecure movie dad. Indeed, its success spawned 1995’s Father of the Bride Part II, a remake of 1951 original sequel Father’s Little Dividend, before the franchise called it a day. However, a third chapter to reunite the saga of the Banks family, Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish), is now headed for Netflix—albeit with a major catch with regard to its format.
Netflix unveiled a surprise announcement for a “special event” dubbed Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish) on the eve of its premiere, which will stream simultaneously on Netflix and Facebook on Friday, September 25. While Netflix is playing things coy with its descriptive language, the rather abrupt nature of this rollout negates any notion of Part...

So… did those violent delights have violent ends?
If you remember anything from the second season of HBO’s Westworld you know the answer to that question is a resounding Yes. But, for those of us who have trouble keeping track of all those timelines and introspective philosophic monologues, especially after all this time, the rest of the show may not be so fresh in our minds. What did Delos want with the hosts? Did Maeve find her daughter? Did Hector Finally get to give his freakin’ speech?

Dave Annable is making his way to NBC's This Is Us.
The actor is set to appear in an upcoming episode of the series, which will reunite him with a former co-star.
Annable previously starred on Fox's one-and-done Red Band Society, playing the on-screen love interest of Mandy Moore.
The news broke when Moore and Pearson were spotted filming in New York City on February 11.
TV Line has revealed that Annable is set to appear as Kirby, Kevin's acting teacher, and will have scenes with Moore's Rebecca Pearson.
This Is Us likes to play with time, so we don't have a definite answer on which timeline he will appear in, but based on the set photo from Just Jared, it seems like it will be the past.
Annable is a TV veteran, with TV credits that include Reunion, Heartbeat, The Mick, 666 Park Avenue, What/If, and Yellowstone.

Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations – which chronicles the epic career of the legendary Motown vocal group – opens up on Broadway this week. It’s a musical based on the 1988 memoir of Temptations founder Otis Williams, the sole living member of the classic lineup. But unlike many Broadway musicals, it makes no attempt to sanitize the more salacious parts of their story.

Reclusive “Ode to Billie Joe” and “Fancy” songwriter Bobbie Gentry continues to inspire a new generation of artists including indie rockers Mercury Rev, who have debuted their uniquely psychedelic jazz rendition of the Mississippi legend’s swampy “Okolona River Bottom Band,” with vocal assistance from Norah Jones.
“Okolona” is the opening track on Mercury Rev’s forthcoming LP, The Delta Sweete Revisited, the Buffalo, New York band’s track-by-track recreation of Gentry’s sophomore LP, released 50 years ago next month. Coming on the heels of the singer-songwriter’s groundbreaking debut,...

Evan Rachel Wood earned her second consecutive Emmy nomination for Best Drama Actress this year thanks to her dynamic role of Dolores Abernathy on “Westworld.” The role has also earned her a Golden Globe nomination and a Critics’ Choice Award. She has previously competed at the Emmys for the miniseries “Mildred Pierce,” making this “Westworld” bid her third career Emmy nomination. She has submitted the episode “Reunion” for consideration.
“Reunion” ventures out of the park and into the real world, when Arnold (Jeffrey Wright) takes Dolores to see his home during a flashback. Dolores is struck by the beauty of the world and Arnold suggests that humans don’t deserve it. Later in this timeline, she attends the retirement party of James Delos (Peter Mullan), and is disappointed when she sees William (Jimmi Simpson) kissing his wife. When they return to the park, William brings Dolores online and mockingly calls her “just a thing,...

“We were filming season 2 of ‘Westworld’ when #metoo broke,” reflects Evan Rachel Wood in an exclusive chat with Gold Derby (watch our video interview above). Wood has been a powerful voice in the #metoo movement, taking to the floor of Congress in February to powerfully share her own experiences of domestic abuse and advocate for a bill of rights for sexual assault. Speaking of “Westworld,” she says, “You couldn’t help but draw parallels between the robot uprising and the revolution we are seeing, especially with women. It also speaks volumes to any group that has been oppressed or anybody who has had to fight for rights and fight for freedom. The game is changing. We are having to have new conversations about old topics. And it has been amazing to watch that unfold while being part of a show that is very much a metaphor for that.”

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Evan Rachel Wood is entering the “Westworld” episode “Reunion” as her Emmy submission for Best Drama Actress. This installment aired April 29 and was the second episode of the second season for the HBO show.
In this flashback-heavy segment, Dolores (Wood) is seen in three different timelines. She and Arnold (Jeffrey Wright) are in the outside world during the time Westworld was being developed and sold. She and the younger William (Jimmi Simpson) have differences before the corporate takeover. She and other hosts continue to build their new army for a rebellion.

During the second season of “Westworld,” Ed Harris’ character, The Man in Black (a.k.a. William), has treated the robotic hosts with much more humanity — well, most of them.
“It depends on who the hosts are,” Harris said in an interview with IndieWire. “He’s buddied up with Lawrence (Clifton Collins Jr.)… so he’s definitely defending him and, as a result, his family. [But] Craddock is a host and so are his henchmen.”
Look what happens to them. In an (ahem) explosive Episode 4, The Man in Black is captured by Jonathan Tucker’s Major Craddock and his goons, only to escape in dramatic fashion and provide his robotic partner-in-crime a chance for revenge. Though the beaten and bloodied Man in Black certainly has reason to blow Craddock to smithereens, he lets Lawrence do it instead — as a gift for what his...

For the first time in its existence, Westworld launched right into the action at the start of "Reunion," with a cold open set in the distant past.
It was a jarring way to start the second episode of the series, as the opening credits sequence didn't even begin until nearly 10 minutes into the hour. And it was far from the only surprise of the episode. Indeed, for a show so steeped in an ever-twisting narrative, "Reunion" was notable for just how much it revealed and implied.

At last year’s Emmys, “Westworld” became the first series in four years (since “Downton Abbey” and “Homeland”) to be nominated for Best Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress. The science fiction western did not receive any guest nominations; it had not submitted for consideration. For its in-progress second season, HBO is campaigning Ben Barnes, Zahn McClarnon, Peter Mullan and Jimmi Simpson for Best Drama Guest Actor. This quartet debuted this season in flashbacks in this past weekend’s episode titled “Reunion,” which featured a surprise cameo by Emmy-nominated “Breaking Bad” actor Giancarlo Esposito, whom HBO is not campaigning.
Jimmi Simpson was one of the seven main cast members that HBO campaigned last year, having appeared in eight out of the ten episodes in a linear arc, usually opposite Ben Barnes. Both Barnes and Simpson are billed as guest stars this season and appear in asides that take place...

(Major spoiler alert: Please do not read ahead unless you’ve seen “Reunion,” Sunday’s episode of “Westworld” Season 2.)
Yes, Evan Rachel Wood, that was Giancarlo Esposito hanging out on the set of “Westworld.” We’re sorry you had to find out this way. But hopefully the performance the “Breaking Bad’ star gave as El Lazo on Sunday’s episode is more than enough to help make up for that white lie he told you last year.
“Being on the set was the most difficult [part],” Esposito told TheWrap in an interview about his cameo Wednesday. “Just to stay in my trailer and not really show my face — be cool about my presence there while I was shooting — was one of the things I had to be conscious of because there were a lot of extras, a lot of actors who clearly I know, and I respect, who just wanted everyone to know, ‘He’s with us out here.’ But after shooting and knowing that the scene had gone so very well, I was really actually even more excited about no one knowing.”

In the episode, titled “Reunion,” Esposito plays El Lazo — the head of a gang of outlaws in the hedonistic Westworld town of Pariah — who the Man in Black (Ed Harris) comes to for assistance while looking for “The Door” that the deceased Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins) is teasing him with in a new game. The Mib brought along host Lawrence (Clifton Collins Jr) as his new sidekick, which made Esposito’s scene all the more entertaining to watch, as Lawrence played the character El Lazo in the park in another life.
And, of course, an impressive scene makes it even more impressive that it remained a secret.
As of Wednesday, Esposito said, with a laugh, that he still didn’t “know what anyone knows!” And he confessed he had to be pretty shady around the “Westworld” cast to keep his cameo on the Dl — including Dolores Abernathy herself.

“So then I got really excited,” Esposito said. “I was at a party for the Emmys and some of the other actors from the show were there who I had not seen on the days that I was shooting. They said, ‘Oh, you were on our show!’ And I went, ‘Nooo, not me.’ And Evan Rachel [sic] [laughs]. And I said, ‘But it’s nice to meet you.’ ‘No, you were on our show! No, we were doing a scene at the other location and we were waiting for Sir Anthony Hopkins to come out of your trailer, because he’s such a big fan and he wanted to see you.'”
“And I said, ‘Nooo, I don’t think so. I think you must be mistaken’ — and they bought it!” Esposito said, laughing. “Actors who are on the show, who were there on another hill the day I was there! And I was just very excited about even trying to fool them. It gets to be a bit of a game and it’s fun when you think about it.”
Pausing here for a minute because, yes, you read that right: Hopkins — whose character died at the end of Season 1 — was on set when Esposito was there filming for the current installment.

Earlier this week, HBO confirmed Hopkins had done voiceover work as Ford for last Sunday’s premiere, providing this statement from co-creator Jonathan Nolan to Uproxx about the actor’s involvement in Season 2:
“When available Anthony Hopkins graciously lent his vocal performance for our flashbacks.”
The premium cabler had no additional comment about Hopkins’ presence on set when reached by TheWrap.
Ok, back to Esposito, who said landing this gig was “kind of an inside deal.”
“Well you know, I’ve been doing this show called ‘Better Call Saul’ [laughs],” Esposito said of his work on the “Breaking Bad” prequel series. “I was doing that show, and my guess is that most of it is, this is another top of the heap, an A-listed show.” Esposito said the AMC drama’s producers were approached by “Westworld” showrunners Nolan and Lisa Joy about a cameo, and that was that.
“All of a sudden I was on the phone with Jonathan and with Lisa and they were describing everything,” Esposito added. “And I was just like, ‘Oh, this world is a world I want to be a part of.’ It came kind of through the backdoor. Because I was told they were writing this character and they could think of no one to play it but me. But they weren’t sure it would happen. But everyone was so amenable and I loved the idea, so I said yes.”
Sadly, Esposito’s version of El Lazo was not long for this world, as his cameo lasted about 5 minutes before he and his crew all shot themselves in the head to force Harris’ character to play Ford’s game alone. But because he’s a host and could come back, we of course had to ask if he would come back.
“You know, I would love to, because I think for me it’s really about being able to have the tools,” Esposito said. “And I’m that kind of actor who when I think about the scene now in a different way, yes a very short period of time on screen, a lot of information to unpack — as you put it — and speak to. But I think this is what I love about the work I do. It’s really about the subject matter. It’s about how we grow from the story and are entertained by it and titillated by it.”
“So if I had the opportunity to come back, and particularly this scene and El Lazo,” he continued. “He’s a guy who has been someone else, and then he’s channeling Ford and a bigger piece of this whole story than I think anyone would ever imagine. So I would love to come back and sort of unpack that and see what that looks like. And wow, I think there are some surprises there to be had that would be really, really, exciting for the audience as well.”
“Westworld” airs Sundays at 9/8 c on HBO.

Do not read on unless you’ve seen “Reunion,” the second episode of the second season of HBO’s “Westworld.”
Since “Westworld” began, it has presumed loudly that, when certain that no one is watching, all human beings turn into the bad guy from “Seven.” For the show to work, you have to buy into that idea. If you’re the kind of person who would take your family to the park to watch Dolores paint landscapes, there are other shows for you, none of them on HBO.
But what if someone was watching?
Though none were on the Bernard’s-a-robot-copy-of-Arnold level, the numerous revelations in “Reunion” were all smart and smoothly delivered, none more so than the one about the park’s business model. Delos, it turns out, is running the same graft as Facebook — promising privacy, then taking your secrets to a back room to be product-ized.

They call it Glory, or the Valley Beyond. It houses everything you need to destroy the forces behind the theme park(s). No mysterious maze here: It's the promised land, the place where both the revolutionary robot Dolores and her human nemesis the Man in Black are headed. And it makes his week's Westworld ("Reunion") rough riding all the way.
First, there's the aftermath of the bloody host rebellion. Its leader, Dolores, shows her beau Teddy and enforcer Angela (Talulah Riley) the innards of underground complexes where hosts are repaired by human technicians.

Early success is the most dangerous kind. Great success for something you did quickly can be even worse. When the two are combined…well, it’s hard for your career to be other than disappointing afterward.

Michael Jackson’s cousin Phyllis Fossett Turner skipped a family reunion in Little Rock on Friday to attend the memorial service for the pop star in his hometown of Gary, Ind.
