While it is never explicitly stated, it is believed that Grandview is located in upstate New York. This is due to the fact that Melinda has driven up to Maine and into the city (presumably New York City). From the looks of the town itself, it appears not too far. Architecture is similar to towns like Poughkeepsie or Highland Falls (near West Point). Another "New York" connection is the writers use a lot of NYC neighborhood names for towns nearby to Grandview, such as "Bay Ridge" (Brooklyn) and Sunset Park (Brooklyn, next to Bay Ridge). This, along with the cars depicted usually having New York license plates, strongly point to it as the home of Grandview.
