Sensory overload

When this movie started and it was clear that Sumida-san was the lonesome man that ends in a killer rampage it looked like it would display disabled people like crazy idiots, but it does not. More its about the frustration (sexual and other) and loneliness felt by not being able to do what others around him can. He has the best possible friends/people to attend to him. This doesn't help as his demons are building inside of him.

This is so different from Huang Tu Di (which I watched the same day) you could get I guess. No more long shootings and watching the characters with their environs, here its extreme closeups, dizziness inducing cameras and seizure like editing. Music a fine mix between punk and noise. A double bill with Rokugatsu no Hebi would be suitable.
