Mumbai, May 20: Despite an over two-decade stint in filmmaking business and quite a few hits to his credit, director Sangeeth Sivan calls himself a struggler in comparison to his filmmaker brother Santosh Sivan.

Mumbai, May 14: All films should not be measured with the same yardstick, feels director Sangeeth Sivan, and suggests that those who don't have an appetite for over-the-top comedy should avoid "Yamla Pagla Deewana 2" (YPD2).
He says every film is different. For instance, his "Kyaa Kool Hai Hum", produced by Ekta Kapoor, was a sex comedy and he feels that critics shouldn't have compared it with a family entertainer.
"I had a bad press for 'Kyaa Kool...' I don't know what all names I was called. My only point was that Ekta and I were clear that we are making a sex comedy and not a 'Ramayan'. It was not a family entertainer..

It’s raining sequels in bollyville. Bollywood has found the formula to piggyback on the success of previous hits and cashing on them by announcing their sequels. Various filmmakers have announced the sequels to hit films like Dostana, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Shootout at Lokhandwala, Isqhiya, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, Race, Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local, Dabbangg.
An interesting trend to be noted in these sequels is the casting. Mostly the director, music composers and lead actors are retained while the lead actresses are mostly replaced with newer and fresher faces.
Neha Dhupia coincidentally featured in three films (Shootout at Lokhandwala, Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local and Kyaa Kool Hai Hum) for which sequels have been announced. She was recently quoted saying, “I don’t know why women are dropped from sequels. It is a male dominated industry and it is entirely upto the director who he wants in the film.

Come April 2012 and Riteish Deshmukh may well be creating 'double dhamaal', albeit of an altogether different kind. Two of his films are all set to clash with each other. Not just that as both are not just comedies but also sequels to successful films. "Housefull 2 and Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum would be clashing with each other in the first weekend of April next year", confirms an industry source, "It would be quite interesting since Housefull as well as Kyaa Kool Hain Hum were comedies and had featured Riteish. Now this is for the first time in Bollywood history that two sequels are taking on each other and that too in the same day." What makes this clash further interesting is the fact that they would be releasing in the week when Ipl 2012 would have just kick-started. In the times when no movie dares to come anywhere in the vicinity of Ipl,...
