I can believe how bad it is, but it's just me.
siderite29 December 2006
I am sure Jack from Minnesota is in the cast somewhere, because no one could ever consider this film as witty or breaking genre rules. The only tensionate moment is when one realizes that there are no black men in this movie and so you don't know who will die first. Everything else is bad CGI, bad acting, bad dialogue, bad sound, bad editing, bad everything. And boring, too.

It's not like I didn't laugh out loud during this movie, but it was only because it stank so much.

And I am not especially picky either. I've seen some of the worst movies ever made in the last few days and I am pretty sure this is not the worst, but it's in the top.

Bottom line: watch it only in a highly intoxicated state, with a bunch of friends with a sense of humour.

This is probably the worst alien movie EVER!!!! Or maybe the worst MOVIE ever!!!

Warning: Spoilers
OK, So a group of camping teens are stranded in the woods and end up playing a VERY tedious game of cat-and-mouse with the military! All I have to say about this movie is that it is terrible!!! And not just terrible but extremely terrible! The CGI is without a doubt the worst CGI I have seen for a long long time!!! The acting was ridiculous! The dialogue wasn't even worthy of a daytime soap! The script sounded like it was written by a school kid! The characters were boring and had NO charisma at all!

I really have nothing good to say about this movie! So I will leave it there!

0/10 (I gave it 1/10 above because 0 wasn't available)

Takes a turn into a different direction
unbrokenmetal6 March 2007
Campers in a forest are attacked by alien creatures who safely arrived with a meteor. Don't ask me how they could survive the crash. A heavily armed rescue team comes to protect the civilians. 10 minutes into this movie, you are probably going to think it's predictable: nasty critters gnawing on entrails are being shot by guys with massive firepower, just like in a cheap video game. But - the movie takes a turn into a different direction for which I was grateful. Stucker (Tom O'Brien), the leader of the "rescue team", has a personal revenge business going on with the hunter Harry (Ken Roberts) and his daughter Kelly (Kiara Hunter) who led the travelers into the forest. Thus, the campers are now being hunted by both aliens and armed men which seems to make survival an almost impossible task... Despite a rather silly script and the poorly animated CGI monsters which don't look real at all, the movie becomes more and more exciting in the second half, so from my point of view, it is OK for a straight to video production. Recommended? Well, I've seen much worse.

"Don't go all past tense on me." Low budget sci-fi horror.

Warning: Spoilers
Alien Incursion starts one ordinary day in the the isolated forest wilderness somewhere in America where two mates Stevie & Bobby (Mike Coleman) are hiking along when things suddenly turn sour, a meteorite crash lands on top of Stevie while Bobby is thrown clear, however something nasty slithers out of the smouldering remains, some alien life-form that heads straight for Bobby... Attracted by the meteorite forest workers Trey (Sean Whale), Jack (Grayson Hosie) & Slade investigate only to discover some mutilated remains & park ranger Kelly Jones (Kiara Hunter) & a bunch of hikers/campers who were also interested in the meteorite. That night something bursts out of Slade's stomach, the rest quickly realise that there is something slimy & very hostile out there that wants to either eat them or use them to grow their young inside their bodies, when your lucks out it's out... They find themselves in a desperate fight for survival but will it do any good?

Produced & directed by Jeffery Scott Lando I can understand why there isn't a lot of love for Alien Incursion floating around but I have to say I didn't think it was quite the disaster many seem to. The script by Jeff O'Brien stats off reasonably well as a hiker tells his mate that he should enjoy the great outdoors because you might get hit by a meteorite after which within 10 seconds he does! At this point I thought this might turn out to be quite fun but things gradually go downhill, to start with the alien storyline is foremost in the filmmakers thoughts but once the special op guys turn up it descends into these soldiers chasing the survivors so there are no 'witnesses' to the alien event & the alien monsters themselves are all but forgotten except the odd moment they turn up & it gets worse as the film goes on until the climax where it resembles a hostage thriller rather than out-and-out horror. The character's are given too much time to bicker & talk, I'm all for character development but these guys should be here as alien food, nothing else & frankly in a film such as this I don't want to know their life-story. If I put my hand on my heart then I have to say overall it's a poor film but there are a few fun(ish) moments, it moves along at a fair pace & it doesn't seem to take itself too seriously.

Director Lando rips-off & pays homage loads of other (better) films, I found the scene when all the soldiers & aliens appear & one of the civilians says 'this reminds me of Predator' rather amusing. There are also mentions for The Evil Dead (1982) & An American Werewolf in London (1981) along with a reenactment of the chest bursting scene from Alien (1979) only on a much lower budget. The special effects in Alien Incursion are awful, in fact I've seen better looking & animated alien monsters in X-Box games. In fact I'd go as far as to say these are maybe the worst looking aliens I've ever seen, they have to be seen to be believed. There's a fair amount of gore, there's the aforementioned chest bursting scenes, someone has their fingers cut off & there are plenty of mutilated bodies & insides lying around.

The budget for Alien Incursion must have been rock bottom, the 'night' scenes were obviously shot during the day & it just looks like they turned the brightness down to make the picture seem darker & it looks horrible. That does nothing for the atmosphere, there's no tension or scares either & the action is a little bit too routine. The acting isn't up to much.

Alien Incursion will probably appall anyone who watches it although I thought there were moments that hinted the filmmakers were trying, however good intentions just aren't enough when people are asking you to spend your hard earned money on something so it's not a film I can recommend at all. To anyone.

Breaks all the usual genre rules
gtc839 November 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This is about a meteor that crashes to Earth, bringing with it some alien snake-like things that crawl into human flesh, to gestate. This all happens out in the deep woods, as a group of campers, a forest ranger and her father, and a group of black-op's military types battle the critters as well as each other. The military guys want to bring one of the aliens back to study, while everyone else just wants to get out of the woods alive.

I enjoyed this one quite a bit. The dialog is surprisingly witty, and I found myself laughing out loud at some of the sarcastic, offhand comments. Also, if you're used to movies where you can tell who will ultimately live and die within the first 10 minutes, this one will come as a surprise. It not only seems to take great pleasure in killing off characters when you least expect it, but the characters you would expect to be killed off first actually end up becoming somewhat of the heroes of the story. And the most unbelievable thing is that the military folks aren't portrayed as the usual bumbling morons that we see in 99% of these sorts of movies. They're evil, but they're actually fairly competent.

The only real negative mark against this film is that the CGI monsters look pretty fake, which is pretty much universal in any movie that uses CGI, except maybe a few scenes here and there in real mega-budget stuff.

Overall, if you're a fan of low budget monster movies, this one is quite a bit better than average.
