Good stuff
satellitepictures12 June 2006
I gave this a 6 out of 10 comparing it to all movies ever made. If I were looking at it strictly as an indy production I would boost that number up. It's a quite entertaining flick made by some young guys that puts some other low budget pictures to shame. The comedy is there and the plot is decent enough for what the movie is. The acting seems "real" enough for the age group without coming across as just plain bad acting as some low budget pictures do. Even the somewhat annoying "sidekick" with his South Park Cartman imitations and other pop culture referenced imitations doesn't bring the movie down. Everyone on this did a good job and the kids are young so that gives them bonus points. They did a better job at indy film-making than some "adults". Give this one a view and you won't regret it.

Slap-happy vampire mayhem!
tomrroot11 May 2005
This flick was made by high school kids, shot on video and had a budget of about $13. And yet...it's still really entertaining! Read on!

1. The two main characters, bumbling pals who slurp down vampire potion and proceed to completely fail at being creatures of the night, have great comedy chemistry. Zane Crosby could read stereo instructions and make them funny.

2. Director Channel knows how to tell a story and not bore ya. This was a lean production, fast-paced and never dragged.

3. Great dialogue! The one hackneyed line in the movie ("I was BORN ready!") is immediately ridiculed by another character. In your FACE, bad dialogue!

The minuses? About half the movie involves people walking down sidewalks in the middle of the night. And the F-bomb gets dropped approximately 4,191 times. But hey, maybe you're into dark sidewalks and F-bombs, in which case you'd give this movie a 10 out of 10!

As for me? I thought it was great. Check it out. 7 out of 10.

Raising the Stakes ups the Ante

Holy sweet suffering crap! This movie rocked my world and had me laughing my balls off for hours. I think I knew some guys like these back in high school. There's nothing like a couple nerd vampires that just can't catch a break, tooling around town getting their asses kicked to get a smile on your face. I got this screener at the office and didn't do a lick of work done all day once I stuck it in my computer. I think the UPS guy got a bit of a shock when he came by for a pick-up and heard the screaming and gunfire coming from my desk. Super nice to see the cameo from the always awkward Lloyd Kaufman too! The phenomenal dialog and killer ska soundtrack made my day. Absolutely wicked. -Mike Union Label Group

And to think these boys aren't even out of high school yet...

Yes, these overachieving li'l (well maybe not so little in Zane's case) bastichs put together a rather amusing little flick.

No, it isn't Citizen Kane, but what it is is a rather amusing buddy vampire flick. Not too many of those now. A few of the jokes do fall a little flat, but the majority of them are right now.

Zane and Josh, the two lead actors, obviously have been friends for awhile, because they didn't have to act too hard to make that obvious in the film.

All in all, a rather amusing ride. And it helped me come up with two drinking games that will be sure to send you to the emergency room by movies end. Any time TJ Rogers says the word "F*ck" you take a shot or drink of beer. OR any time somebody says the word vampire. Note: This second option WILL result in alcohol poisoning for any involved.

this vampire movie= awesome

I wasn't quite sure what to think of this film when I first heard that it was coming, by I am sure glad that I did go to the premiere. All 75 minutes of this comedy were full of laughs. It was greatly enjoyable, although the amount of profanity was disconcerting. The lead characters -Zane Crosby and Josh Lively- had chemistry and charisma that showed well on film and kept us laughing throughout the film. Director/Screenwriter Justin Channel's writing gave the dialog a lot of spunk and kept the audience quite attentive throughout the premiere. I give this film two thumbs up, and would recommend it to comedy lovers everywhere.
