Trivia:
The character "Chat" is inspired by a real life criminal, one of the most wanted in this time, Richard Blass. Convicted criminal Richard (The Cat) Blass escaped from prison in the winter of 1974 and set out on a killing spree to avenge his six years behind bars. First, he shot two drinking pals at the Gargantua bar on Beaubien St. E. Then he invited two friends to dinner at the Fiesta Bar-B-Q. They were found dead the next day. A couple of weeks later, Blass returned to the Gargantua bar and shot and killed the owner, former police officer Rejean Fortin. To make sure there were no witnesses, Blass locked 12 customers in a small storage room, set fire to the club and emptied bottles of cognac to fuel the flames. Everyone in the place died. Police tracked Blass down three days later at a hideout in Val David, 100 kilometres north of Montreal, and shot him dead. moreFAQ

An extremely clever, funny, adult, violent piece of crime drama, set in Montreal, Canada, in the 1970's. Each episode revolves around a radio-journalist, Mac, who embodies all the requisite traits: tall, dark, handsome, driven, confident, suave, flawed and emotional He also possesses something essential that ultimately drives the show: his utter and complete obsession with crime, crime lore, and criminals. It is through his passion for outlaws that connects him to Montreal's criminal underworld as well as their law-enforcement antagonists by virtue of his being media-neutral. He finds himself repeatedly as mediator and unwitting negotiator between criminals and policemen and he succeeds wildly in gaining local fame, garnering trust within the criminal element and becoming, in the police's view, a necessary evil. Well written, beautifully acted and immensely entertaining. 9/10.
