Sequel That Helped Launch a Living Legend
grendelkhan13 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This series was a sequel to the original Tiger Mask cartoon(and manga) and coincided with the debut of Satoru Sayama as the living Tiger Mask. New Japan Pro Wrestling licensed the character and put Sayam into the role. Sayama had extensive experience around the globe, wrestling in Mexico and the UK and incorporating elements of those styles into his matches. He debuted three days after the first broadcast of the new cartoon, complete with the same costume, facing Dynamite Kid, who he would go on to defeat for the WWF Jr. Heavyweight Championship, while also holding the NWA Jr. Heavyweight Championship. That popularity would outshine the cartoon.

The cartoon itself is typical of anime of the period, setting it apart from the more stylistic original cartoon. The original cartoon had more in common with Ikki Kajiwara's manga, with a "shetchier" style to it.

The new story features a new Tiger Mask, after Naoto Date has been killed rescuing a child from the path of a speeding car. Another orphan, Tatsuo Aku takes up his mantle. He soon finds himself facing an evil organization, bent on world domination.

This series has more of a superhero tone to it than the original and ran for 33 episodes, having far less of an impact that the original or the living Tiger Mask (Sayama). The animation is more fluid, though the story is less compelling and the only thing that really sets it apart from other anime of the period was the wrestling angle. As with the original, many actual wrestlers from the New Japan promotion appear in the cartoon, with promoter/star Antonio Inoki taking a stronger role than in the original (which was made during the days of the Japanese Wrestling Association, when Giant Baba was the star, with Inoki as his partner).

The series is enjoyable enough, though would more likely appeal to fans of Sayama, and wrestling in general.

Tiger Mask + Batman against the honorable ( and evil ) sheik
destracricetale27 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Tiger Mask 2 is a sequel for Tiger Mask but really pale and sucks in comparison to the original series. First of all : the storyline is rather dull if compared to the first one: the original Tiger Mask die saving a children and his place was taken by one of the orphan ( not Kenta)that learn all the martial arts and become better then the first one, okay..the guy has a secret identity: is a clumsy reporter ( like superman), has a transformable (tiger themed) car ( like batman), has an living armored tiger (!) like he-man and, instead of a bat-cave he lives in a ancient pyramid hidden below the mount Fujii. The foes of this Batman-Tiger Mask are an gangster organization lead by an evil sheik . The evil sheik is very wealthy, he live in a luxury boat and has an professional wrestling team of his own that use to humiliate the always good Japanese wrestling association. (wrestling is real here) AND blackmail Japan menacing that he could block the oil furniture..the evil sheik is the most powerful fighter in the world : in 30 second he beat Andre the Giant..the sheik is bad but in the end he die and become good, Tiger Mask kills him after a furious match but nobody arrest him for homicide or stops the match. Absurdity don't stops here: the evil masked wrestlers used often absurd moves and gimmicks: one is a former American astronaut and..can fly, another is a giant with blue skin but is not Dragonball, the anime pretend to be realistic .

second: the drawing: the element of fascination of the first Tiger Mask were the sketchy drawing, an artistic touch that was very impressive . Tiger Mask 2 has flat and uniform drawing, the opera of a competent team but without any originality. The background music is inferior too.

Real life wrestlers as guest star are present too: they went regularly trashed (Andre the giant included) by the evil masked wrestlers .

I saw all the episode when I was 10 and was disappointed from the third one .

Great Anime
bbally8110 July 2005
Warning: Spoilers
An Arabic dub of this 1981 anime aired on Arabic Networks around the Arab World back in the early 90's and became a huge hit. I was surprised to find out that this a sequel to another Tiger Mask aired in 1969 I have yet to see and I was even more surprised to find out that about 4 or 5 wrestlers in Japan used the Tiger Mask gimmick and became famous in the Wrestling world. The plot is of a criminal organizational trying to the take over the sports world using wrestlers as well as other athletes and the only one stands in their way is Tiger Mask a Japanese wrestler who sports a tiger like mask. Helping him in his quest are anime forms of real life wrestlers like Antonio Inoki, Stan Hansen, Abdulla The Butcher and even the late Andre The Giant. The plot may may seem cheesy but it's really an action packed anime with some great character development and wonderful drama with some lovely music background. It's worth a watch.

Warning: Spoilers
Then a lot of time has passed During the events of the original soul however in this thing there is a bad problem that is Naoto is dead because Luce is sacrificed to save a child who is being hit by a car but a new person who call tatsugon however in my country or inItaly I prefer to call him Tommy mirror it's a very easy name to remember So Tommy was one of the children of Naoto's lofanotrofio but he decided to go to America to make another life as a journalist But a friend is attacked by some thugs that's how Tommy decided Ofmake him pay but he was arrested for assault and therefore he was put in jail But he managed to free himself but he is no longer able to look for work because no one doesn't want to do Criminals work but finally someone appears who he got out of jail or he is one from thepeople from the Tigers' Den apparently someone rebuilt them and Tommy decided to go there to train but shortly after he decided to leave the den and so he decided to train every day country a good fighter So he returns to Japan and does today's journalists Sports butafter a danger happens some people want to steal join the Japanese free wrestling And they call themselves the space federation but Tommy decided to enter the ring wearing the role of Tiger Mask II Yes now He has become the new Tiger Mask So what do I think Offor me I found this anime much more beautiful than the original anime the others don't even say it I have already looked for the other reviews but they only say that this one is not up to the level of the first one In my opinion this one is much more interesting nor the first one starting with the animation won't be much much anymorebeautiful but it is much more sophisticated than the previous one then I really like Tiger Mask II because it is a truly fantastic design and then unlike the original one it is much stronger because Well because he has learned high fighting techniques all over the world oldapproved in any way to be stronger than the original Tiger Mask And then in this anime I found the villain much more interesting than the previous one because this one is really catalyzed very well this anime as in the first one you have to see if you like free fighting but this anime He did not dothe same success as the first because this received the same treatment in Dragon Ball GT or that this anime is not canon because another anime was made that only connects to the original anime but in my opinion this anime must be seen too because to me I liked it very muchto conclude I vote 9.
