There's the lecherous restaurant owner, his wife, the waitress and her boyfriend, the cook and Paddy McGuire, the bum who wanders into this situation. By the time it's over, there's been in-park flirting, a fight in the kitchen and bombs going off, but it all seems like a rote compilation of standard Keystone gags spread out over almost half an hour.
Mack Sennett had moved his production to the Fine Arts banner, in partnership with D.W. Griffith's productions, but had decided he was being put upon, serving as the in-demand producer for a lot of Fine Arts' lesser productions -- Griffith was off in England, making HEARTS OF THE WORLD for the British government. Soon, Sennett would bolt for his own independent studio, and if he was still on the lot when this was made, he was not supervising as closely as he formerly had. Even the titles seem overwritten and dull. THe entire production seems bloated.
