Do yourself a favor... Forget the sophomoric, banal humor that we all have to suffer to enjoy a one or two good punchlines from a stand-up routine. Give this guy about ten minutes of your time and you'll be hooked! The last time we watched his 2000 CC Special (for the 3rd or 4th time) my wife and I were laughing SO hard we couldn't breathe! She actually had to turn it off until I could catch my breath. Our kids (10 and 12) love -- and get -- his stuff too, and often recite it at unexpected moments to get us laughing!
I first saw him about 10 years ago, and to this day all I have to do is think of him doing one of his goofy faces or body contortions that accompany his bits and I begin to belly-laugh all over again. His comedy is about as pure as it gets. It is ingenious in its simplicity and therefore just plain FUNNY! He discusses the simplest life activities that we all have done (or wish we HADN'T done!) and makes it so funny that... wait a minute... (I've got the giggles again thinking about his "ice cream serving size" bit). I will say that the physical side of his humor is the part that pushes you over the edge, so audio alone doesn't come close to doing him justice. As a comedian he is an "undiscovered" gem. It's interesting that when I talk to people about him, they remember him by his bits like... "You mean the 'Fig Newton' guy???" or "Oh yeah! The 'Pop Tarts' guy!", and then they say "He's REALLY funny! What ever happened him?", or "why doesn't he do more stand up?". I guess the "comedy circuit" is more fickle than we know.
Anyway... ENJOY! And by all means "Take Luck"!
