A Make-Believe Documentary
groggo11 March 2008
If you think a documentary is simulating real events through the use of actors and catchy special effects, then this mess might appeal to you. If you think documentaries, by definition, are depictions of real events featuring real people, then this mess will turn you off.

This is about a mid-1980s murder in Long Island by Satanic worshippers. The subject is intriguing, but the film unfolds as one of those awful (and consistently typical) A&E 'investigations,' replete with staged events that make the whole thing look very phony. It's hard for a viewer to get engaged with this stuff. This is a doc in name only. It's a doc trying to be a Hollywood horror flick. All in all, it's not worth watching.
