This PPV drew an awful 0.48 buyrate, as John Bradshaw Layfield (John Layfield) continued his streak of being the worst-drawing WWE World Heavyweight Champion since Diesel (Kevin Nash).
Final WWE PPV appearance for Johnny Stamboli (Jon Hugger), as he was Nunzio's (James Maritato) cornerman for Nunzio's loss to WWE Cruiserweight Champion Spike Dudley (Matt Hyson).
The feud between Miss Jackie (Jackie Gayda) and Dawn Marie (Dawn Marie Psaltis) was based on Dawn claiming that she and Charlie Haas, Gayda's real life fiancée, were having an affair. Before the match, Dawn walked into Jackie's dressing room while she was getting dressed and was topless with her arms wrapped around her breasts. Dawn proceeded to cut a promo on Jackie, who was essentially defenseless. Dawn literally could have done anything she wanted to at the time since Jackie would be incapable of countering or defending against it since she'd risk exposing herself in the process. At the start of the match, Dawn was wearing a T-shirt which read "Charlie loves Dawn Marie," and Jackie tore it off of her.
The storyline said that Billy Kidman (Peter Gruner) would have been fired if he didn't wrestle his match against Paul London or if he tried to walk out on it. Kidman was in the process of turning heel at the time and told the crowd that they made him hit the Shooting Star Press despite how dangerous the move is. Paul London was coughing up blood after the match and as he was being put on a stretcher Kidman hit the move on London again.
