Many adaptations have been made of the Wilde play, including personal approaches to the material by Al Pacino and Ken Russell. Porn maestro Luca Damiano goes experimental with his XXX version, and comes up with a winner.
I forgive Luca the various self-serving aspects of the production, as perhaps he was being tongue-in-cheek. In any event, he stages the play at a theater in Barcelona, with adult perfomers acting and having sex on stage before a big audience of extras, all the while showing Luca's video crew shooting the performance.
Luca's entrance is covered by the media and he's greeted with great applause upon arrival and at the curtain call. Seems like ego-tripping but could also be a bit of self-ribbing by the maestro.
Roberto Malone is quite amusing playing the central role of King Herod, giving a flamboyant, theatrical performance. His wife is played by bosomy Elodie Cherie, who frequently looks at the camera, while the title role is performed by Maria De Sanchez, who physically impresses in both her dance movements and acrobatic sexual positions.
Damiano features a couple of current superstars very early in their careers: Ramon Nomar as John the Baptist, playing his role imprisoned in a cage, and Toni Ribas as one of the soldiers on stage. Many sexual combinations are explicitly portrayed, the strangest being Cherie as the Queen making love to Herod while a line of soldiers each deposit a cum shot on her ass.
Damiano keeps reminding us of the mult-media approach, by having Alain Lyle as the emcee of the stage show remain on stage and have sex with various beauties. And the movie crew including Luca are shown at work, while the audience is shown witnessing the sex acts -quite unusual.
