- The main character meets a prostitute and a cross dresser (drag queen) at a seedy motel.
- It is implied that a man has sex with a woman on two different occasions. It shows the morning after both times with a woman (and him once) in bed unclothed but covered by sheets so no nudity is seen.

- A rattlesnake nearly bites Burt.
- Burt sets his lawn on fire when he hears that the neighbors think his unkempt lawn is lowering property values.
