Dr. Tran! He's really is a doctor!!

This won't make any sense to you if you haven't seen this trailer for an imagined animated movie. But once you have you'll be part of the ever growing Dr. Tran family! I've seen this film at Spike&Mike's Sick&Twisted Animation Festival at the Annecy Festival 2004, and it is by far the most hilarious short animation I have ever seen (no kidding!). I had the tears in my eyes when it was over. It's probably best to see this film at a festival, where you will get the 3d-glasses that are required for it. It adds a lot to the atmosphere if you do, and I'm not sure it would work as well sitting at home behind your computer or TV. So, if you have the chance, go and see it! Now! Dr Tran is my personal hero!!

Funny stuff

I agree, this was a very funny animated which satirizes the media influence on children, complete with the incessant announcer and the innocent Asian child who has no idea what is going on at all. The film is perfect for a good laugh and will (maybe) get you interested in short film animation if you aren't already.

-A note to the previous poster, I have a DVD copy of Dr. Tran, but Breehn gave it to me himself so I don't know if they have widely distributed them. When I talked to him last he mentioned something about ownership issues with Spike and Mike so I don't know what is up. Check their website (forget what it is) to see if they'll send you one.

Dr. Tran was great

In my opinion, you either love or hate Dr. Tran based on a persons sense of humour. A tad twisted. I loved it. There are hints of the same humour on Bravest Warriors at times. Dr. Tran is far better. I really wish it would have continued or even made a comeback. Even a deal with Netflix would be great for exposure and accessibility to the content.

This might have to be one of the best flash-animated movies I've ever seen. All the random scenes, wtf's, and memorable quotes makes you just wanna see it, again and again.

The thing about "Here comes Dr. Tran" is about a man named Dr. Tran who is the worlds greatest action hero of all time....but really, he's just a five-year-old boy, trying to finish his breakfast. I'm assuming just listening to that has given you a chuckle or two.

I've shown this short to almost all my friends, and they too can't get enough of "HOT DICKINGS!!!" This is one of those shorts you have got to see. If you're a random kind of person, and doesn't try to take life too seriously, then this is the short for you.

Check out this cult hit, and see what everyone is talking about.

Hot Dickings!

Dr. Tran is the most hilarious thing I have ever seen. I couldn't stop laughing the entire time, and for several days after. It's original and intelligent, not to mention completely random and ridiculous. I saw this at Spike & Mike's and it far surpassed every other animated short, as well as some of my favorite shorts from previous festivals. The humor is somewhat in the vein of South Park, Don Hertzfeldt, etc. but even more impressive I would say. The animation is also really adorable. go to Spike and Mike's and watch the whole thing at the festival. If you have the opportunity to do so, then see it! You will NOT be disappointed!

Nearly made me pee.

I got to see "Here Comes Dr. Tran" at the San Diego ComicCon last year during the Spike and Mike preview festival. I had no idea what I was going to see, but friends who'd seen the preview the previous night informed me that I /had/ to see one of the shorts. I'm so glad they did. Really, it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I was bent double with laughter by the end, and my friends have been quoting this short incessantly since then. The only problem is, apparently Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation is /never/ going to come out where I live, and Breehn/Burns hasn't put this puppy out on DVD or made clips available to anyone other than Spike and Mike. They're being seriously under served by this distribution method, where they could have the exposure of something like "Rejected". Breehn/Burns, /please/ put this short out where people can actually see it!

Pure genius!

Warning: Spoilers
Caught Dr. Tran on G4s' Happy Tree Friends and Friends' last night and was completely bowled over. I haven't seen such brilliance since I was originally pointed towards Happy Tree Friends a year ago! Good job Breehn Burns, you're a frickin' genius! I dare anyone not to cry laughing when they see this. Hugely and insanely recommended! The animation is simply excellent, the voices genius. If you can find them, the out-takes from the sound recording are entertaining in their own right. I've purchased the DVD not 10 minutes ago and looking forward to checking out the few seconds of 3D (for which glasses are supplied with the DVD.) The only problem is i have to wait a whole week before it arrives...

I thought it was really funny

Warning: Spoilers
"Here Comes Dr. Tran" is an American (mostly) animated short film from 2008, so this one will have its 10th anniversary soon and it was written and directed by Breehn Burns, probably among his most known career efforts and not the only one starring the title character. The back and forth between the narrator and the character was truly hilarious in my opinion. Tran seems to be just a little Asian boy who wants to eat breakfast without being bothered or interrupted and here comes the boastful narrator rambling on about how this kid is the next big thing, the next great superhero before in the second half turning him into something like God's gift to women sexually and the kid just doesn't understand the world anymore. At under 10 minutes, I found it hilarious from start to finish and it doesn't drag or get old in any way (yet). The animation is nothing special, but it doesn't need to be as it fits the purpose very well all in all. I certaainly think you need to see this want, especially if you like lack of political correctness (huge cock etc.) as much as I do. I think this will be especially appreciated by those who like South Park for example and I think the Tran character should have a cameo there. Anyway, this is among the funniest films and best short films 2008 has to offer. You really don't want to miss out on that one.
